1913 Stutz Bearcat, The Ultimate Brass Era Sports Car. Reluctantly offered here is the rare opportunity to acquire a magnificent award winning Stutz Bearcat from a private collector reducing his collection. I have owned this car since the mid 1990's. The previous owner had the car in a disassembled state and had commissioned the noted Stutz expert and restorer, Paul Freehill of Stutz Specialties in Indiana, to reassemble and restore the car. This restoration was freshened up in 2008 when the car was entered in the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. This Bearcat was awarded First Place in its class at the 2008 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance beating out a Mercer Raceabout and Pierce Arrow among others. The car has logged only a few miles since its Concours victory and is in spectacular condition as you can see in the photos of the car. The car is appropriately appointed in all regards. The distinctive bark of the 4 cylinder "T" head engine is best heard with the exhaust cut out engaged. This car would be eligible to partictipate in Horseless Carriage Club events and would be an impressive performer on brass and gas tours and vintage sports car rallies and races. Succinctly, the two greatest and most desirable early American sports cars were and still are the Mercer Raceabout and the Stutz Bearcat.
