Vehicle Detail

This is a 1952 Chevrolet 3100 Panel sitting on a 1978 Chevrolet 4 wheel drive chassis. (Blazer I believe) I bought this vehicle in Price Utah about 4 years ago. I have really enjoyed using it as a daily drive, work truck and have even taken it to a few shows. I own a couple of bicycle stores and a bicycle accessory business called www.lizardskins.com. I bought the vehicle to use as a daily driver/promotional vehicle at my bicycle stores. It worked fine for me as a personal driver but since I didn't have indoor parking for this vehicle at either of the bicycle stores I was afraid to actually use it at the bicycle stores. I used it personally for a couple of years and then assigned it to Lizard Skins for the past 2 years as their daily driver to run back and forth to the post office, UPS, Home Depot, etc. The truck is currently registered as a 1952 and passes Utah safety tests without issue. The BuildA 1952 Panel body was set on top of a 1978 (Blazer?) chassis by Ernie Herrera from Price Utah more than 10 years ago. Price is a mining town and Ernie is one of those gifted mechanics that can actually build anything he sets his mind to. I was impressed with all the 1950's pickups he had when I went to check this beauty out. He loves to restore 1950's Chevrolet Pickups and 3100 Panels. Paint and BodyThe passenger side rear fender has some damage. It has been partially fix but shouldn't be to difficult for a body show to whip into shape. I have a spare rear fender that will be included with the vehicle but isn't in perfect condition either. There is also a small crack in the paint on the upper rear panel of the passenger side. There is a little bit of surface rust on the drivers side between the orange and black paint. The black on the front fenders also seems to be fading. Not sure if this can be buffed out or if it just needs a repaint. There are also a few small chips on the hood. The paint is good enough that you could just wrap the entire body in vinyl and have the coolest moving billboard anywhere or it would be easy enough to repaint the body and make it look show quality. Compared to many 3100 Panels I have seen on EBAY this one is in very good condition. It seems like there are show cars and rust buckets. This vehicle is a restored panel with some years on it. The front cowl air intake is functional and looks really cool. The front windshield glass and both rear door windows are all in great condition. The glass on the driver and passenger doors both have a crack in them. I have a new side glass for 1 side that is in great condition but I haven't had a chance to install it. I also have new side window felt/rubber that I haven't installed. MechanicalsThis is a pretty straight forward drive train with parts available at any parts store around the USA. It has a 350 cubic inch V8 and a 350 turbo automatic transmission. The transmission is shifted from the tilt column that has been installed as well. The truck starts and runs well. I really love the disc brakes up front. Since there is tons of trails to explore in Price Utah, Ernie wanted to create a unique 3100 panel that had working 4 wheel drive. It has locking front hubs and a low range locking differential shifted from the floor shifter. Reliable straight forward mechanics that are easy to maintain and replace in case you decided to tackle something a little to crazy some day - Grave Digger style! I haven't taken this rig digging personally. All my time has been on the road. But Ernie assured me it would go anywhere. This panel has the benefits of working power steering and power brakes thanks to the 1978 chassis it sits on. Its surprisingly easy to get around in tight parking lots thanks to the power steering and tight turning ratio. It has an electric fan for the radiator, good working cab heater, working head lights parking lights and blinkers (I added the the blinkers to make lane changes on the freeway a little easier), a parking brake, and upgraded electric windshield wipers. I gave up on the vacuum wipers real quick. It also has a working horn and tilt steering wheel. There is a 2" receiver hitch below the rear bumper with a 7 pin electrical plug. I used this 3100 panel to pull our 20 ft enclosed bicycle trailer once last year. We only had to pull it 15-20 minutes each way and it performed perfectly and looked really cool! Tires and WheelsThe wheels are in nice shape but the tires are old and ready to be replaced. The tires pass inspection but I think it would look really cool with a larger tire. InteriorThe original seats have been replaced with van seats that have working lap seat belts and working adjustable tracks in case someone a little shorter wants to jump behind the wheel. The seats work just fine but the fabric on the seats looks a little worn. The original doom light works great. There is a radio but no speakers that I can see so I can't guarantee that the radio actually works. I enjoyed the feel of the road and all the looks I got driving this rig so I never bothered to put a stereo in it. There are no holes I can see cut in the interior for speakers - big bonus! The rear storage area is in nice condition. Nothing fancy but it looks very original. Wrap UpI have 4 vintage cars in my collection at the moment. I haven't bought or sold any in a few years. I have a great mechanic that rents a building from me so I have enjoyed getting all 4 vehicles is good working order. My plans are to sell 2-3 of my cars and get a 1965-1966 Mustang Fastback. A $500 deposit will be required from the winning bidder within 48 hours of auction close. Winning bidder will have 7 days to pay for the vehicle in full. I am willing to help with shipping, or pick you up from the airport if you choose to fly in and drive it home. This vehicle does not come with any warranty and will be sold as is. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. You can e-mail me or call me 801-358-5255. This vehicle is titled as a 1952 Chevrolet 3100 panel. It has a clean title. I have never owned a vehicle that gets more looks for such reasonable money. My neighbors 8 year old boy told his dad that Zach's dad (me) has all the cool cars. My neighbor drives a brand new Audi Q7... Pretty funny. I took this 3100 to a father and sons camp out last year and slept in the back. It was great. It snowed all night and we were dry and happy with tons of room. Happy bidding!
