You are looking at a 1951 Dodge "Job Rated" Pickup, original, with 13,800 miles. The truck runs and drives absolutely like brand new. All the gauges work, the speedometer works, the steering and the brakes are tight, the fuel tank was just flushed out, the radiator was re-cored, a new muffler was installed, all normal stuff for a truck of this age. The choke works, and the throttle cable works, and it was really neat to start this truck up and have a memory blast of these trucks and just how cool they are. The truck is a 5-window "pilot-cab" or sometimes called a "lighthouse-cab" and it has been a 2 owner since it was new. The story is: the gentleman went in in 1951 and bought the truck new with his buddy. Used it for the next 30 years to haul feed, etc., about once a week into town for his farm. The second owner is the buddy that was with the original owner when he bought it new. He has owned it from the mid to early 80's until present and he bought it from the original owner when he passed away and now he has passed away. The truck is now available for the first time, to the public, since it was on the show floor in 1951. The front and rear bumpers have their dings on them, the tires are badly weather checked, but you can tell all the earmarks of an original, original truck. The original seat is starting to show some signs of age but is still very serviceable the way it is. The headliner and the dash and the fit and finish on the body are incredible. Note: the carbureator, the choke and throttle, all the electrical are all in great shape on this truck as is the wood bed. This truck has been in inside controlled storage its entire life and has not been exposed to the elements. It has been maintained, driven occasionally and pampered its whole life and it shows. There is also no rust on the truck anywhere. I'm selling this truck with a low reserve and I hope the truck goes to someone who can really appreciate it.
