Vehicle Detail
You are looking at an original 1963 Chevrolet Impala, 2 door, hardtop. This car came factory with a 283 V-8, 2 BBL, automatic transmission and AM radio that still works. The older gentleman that I purchased this car from, hated to see it go. His story was that he had just had heart surgery and that he was putting his 2 children through college and the car just had to go. He loved the car and prided himself at car shows and has several trophies that he wanted to keep. The gentleman was 68 years old and the car reflects pride of ownership. Now about the car; It was painted for the first time over 3 years ago in it's original Ermine White (with original turquoise blue interior) and it is a very, very nice paint job. The quarter panels, door, fender, trunk lid, etc., are all original to the car. As you can see by the pictures, the underside of the car is very nice. There are a few spots that I noticed where the inner rockers are soft and one body mount in the rear has a little rust. Please look at the pictures of the rear quarter panels - they are nice and solid. The car drives tight and strong. It has been freshly tuned, fresh oil change, fresh transmission service, new brakes, new stainless steel dual exhaust and the tires have less than 7,000 miles on them. This is a legitimate, nice, clean, straight classic Chevy. The only thing after market on the car is the under dash AM/FM/CD player with hidden speakers that work great. All the accessories including the interior dome lights, the radio, the speedometer, the gas gauge and yes, even the "cold" engine indicator light still all work perfectly. All the glass is in excellent shape, all the windows go up and down like they should, the 2 doors, the trunk and the hood open and close perfectly. When it was tuned they did a compression check and found that the engine was very solid and would run a long time yet. It is believed that the 108,000 showing are the original miles. The car is a joy to drive. You can really tell when one of these Chevy's have been adult owned, have not been tampered with from original, all these years. Make no mistake, this car is not a show car by worldwide showcar standards, but it is in the category of being an excellent driver and will probably win trophies wherever you go. Negatives; The original driver seat and the rear package tray are showing signs of wear - both of which are available from CARS or whoever. The carpets are orignal - good, but showing signs of wear around the foot pedal, but remember, with the exception of a repaint, the SS hubcaps and the aftermarket CD this car is bone stock original and very, very nice. These cars are really only original once! Note: this car, if anything, has been understated by me rather than alot of people that overstate their cars. This is a tight, smooth, classic chevy that is ready for the road. Once again, it is not a show car, but it is a very reliable driver and a good looker!! I had it listed before and my reserve is low for what this car is. Price them and bid this car with confidence. Have fun bidding. Thank you, Roger, 612-849-6350
