Vehicle Detail

1966 Humber Super Snipe, 27415 miles, NEW PAINT, new tires, beautiful chrome, California car with no rust, front bumper needs to be reattached (bumper comes with the car), interior needs restoration, includes manuals and 1962 parts car. This car's history dates back to the mid-1970s when it was purchased by a local collector and transported to Wisconsin from California. The car was stored inside while the collector gathered 3 other 1960s Humber Super Snipe automobiles. Around 1996, this car and one other was transported to a body shop. A better engine and transmission were fitted into this car while the interior and exterior were stripped for paint. The car spent 15 years at the paint shop! During this time, the collector passed away. In 2007, I purchased this car and the donor parts car from the son of the collector. I needed only pay the body shop the $2500 due on the new paint. Since 2007, this car has been stored inside and I have added a new set of tires. Unfortunately, I've not had any time to work on the car. I am very short of space and it is time to let someone else pick up this beautiful car. What is left? The car needs the interior either seriously cleaned & repaired, or completely replaced. The engine and transmission have good running parts, but have not been running in almost 8 years--I expect a good weekend of gasket replacement work and carb tuning to get this car running again. The work remaining after paint includes restoring and reassembling the front bumper/grille. All parts are available, but the bumper and grille need a little TLC and straightening (I've fixed worse on an antique Farmall tractor). This is a special British automobile made in Coventry, England. Coventry is a manufacturing center that suffered extensive bombing missions by the Germans during WWII. Humber hung on after the war and resumed production, but only until the 1960s. This 1966 is the last, and final year of the Humber Super Snipe. This "fancy" sedan was larger and faster than most during its day--and many owners of this fine automobile would have had a hired driver. Happy snipe hunting.
