Vehicle Detail

1971 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe ***See the numerous pictures for the condition of this vehicle.*** DETAILS: Engine: LS5 454/365 Options: 4 speed, power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning, am/fm, white stripe tires Brands Hatch green with green interior (only offered in this color one year). This color is very bright and shiny (metallic) unlike the drab green colors normally offered in the sixties and early seventies. The reserve, although I will not disclose the amount, will be very reasonable considering this original vehicle with these options and this economy. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is very clean and original. The engine block code (on rear) is: GM7 3963512 correct for a 1971 454/365 block. It is a two bolt main. The engine block code (on front) is: 1.) T1203CPH and 2.) C11S104949 also correct for a 1971 454/365 Corvette block and original to this vehicle. All stickers are original to the compartment (except for the air cleaner-new), the air conditioning unit is Frigidaire model #5910741 and Harrison stamped 70M 309249 tank (both correct for 1971 air components and per date correct for this vehicle). The intake casting number is: K30 70 (Nov. 30, 1970) GMT 3955287 (correct for 1971 Corvette 454 with 4BBL Rochester Carb) The Carburetor is a Rochester Quadrajet 7041205 (correct for 1971 manual transmission 454)-the arm is stamped 42684. The water pump is stamped 3992077 (correct for 1971 454/365). The fan blades are stamped H70 (correct). The only thing non-original, for major components, are the starter (which I have and is included in this sale) and the alternator which should be a Delco-Remy 61 amp (for the air conditioning) stamped 1100544. INTERIOR: This is super nice condition. No rips, tears, etc. The seats, carpet, console, rear compartments, etc. are in superb condition. The only flaw that I can see is the front (driver) speaker cover on the dash pad has one line of the holes that are not separated. This is minute and you can only see it when looking straight down on it from the exterior windshield and “looking for it”. Yes, the am/fm radio AND the clock works. Pop out the t-tops and back rear window and enjoy the day. UNDERCARRIAGE: Very nice original condition. I do not observe any signs of a crash. Absolutely no frame rust holes or bird cage damage. EXTERIOR: Original condition. The body panels, hood and glass are original. The chrome bumpers and trim is in good shape. The tires are new. The wheels are correct and the trim rings look good. The parking lenses are clear instead of amber (this is correct for an early production 1971), The front nose has the typical rivets showing (which is a great indicator for an original front end). The vehicle has a stress crack in the body behind the driver’s door approximately 2” in length. The paint is shiny and a “ten-footer”. It is lacquer and has miscellaneous spider webs and cracks. You can drive this vehicle and if a rock chip occurred, you would not pass out or you could have a repaint and have a beautiful conditioned 1971 Corvette to cherish for decades. OPERATIONS: The motor starts (one or two pumps) and runs well. It does not smoke and does not run hot. The windshield wipers, headlamps, radio, clock, power steering and brakes work well. The tires are new. I also have the correct spare white stripe tire and wheel. The only thing that does not work is the air. I charged the system last year and it blew ice cold for about 1 hour…..then I blew a line out and have not replaced. PAYMENT: I will take a non-refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours from the end of the auction, with the remaining balance to be paid in full within 7 days from the end of the auction. The purchaser will be assessed the 3% Paypal fee. I will accept bank checks, cash, wire transfers, personal checks, etc. for the remaining balance. The vehicle will not leave my possession prior to funds clearing my financial institution. SHIPPING: This is the responsibility of the purchaser. I will aid in any way that I can. This vehicle is to be picked up prior to thirty days from the end of the auction. I will also deliver the vehicle up to 150 miles (give or take-one-way) for $2.00 per mile. ADDITIONAL: If I happened to forget anything (No… never) please send me a question and I’ll try and respond in the quickest manner that my schedule will allow. This vehicle is an excellent driver with endless possibilities. These matching number big block, high optioned cars are money in the bank.
