Vehicle Detail

This is a 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. It has been garaged for the last 6 years, with only 650 miles put on it in that time. This is a great, fun vehicle, and exudes a ton of character… you’ll feel like you’ve just driven off of a safari in the Serengti! In the last several years, I’ve installed: New deluxe power steering kit for FJ-40 New FJ 40 knuckle rebuild kit (bearings, seals, and felts) New FJ 40 tie rod end kit New steering rag joint New brake lines New Skyjacker 4” suspension lift with soft ride springs New Skyjacker Soft Ride Hydro Shocks New Weber Carburetor for FJ-40 New Tigertop (by Bestop) soft-top kit including doors New square side mirrors Two new batteries The prior owner put approximately 3,000 miles on a rebuilt engine and rebuilt transmission on this vehicle before I bought it, with the work done by JT Outfitters in North Carolina. He also replaced the master cylinder and brake booster, and installed a four wheel disc brake conversion kit from JT Outfitters. The six-cylinder F155 engine runs well. It has a three-speed manual transmission, works well, and is four-wheel drive, of course. The body is in good shape, with no significant dents or damage, but there is paint blistering and scratches on the body typical for this type and age of vehicle. There are two hairline cracks below the hinges to the back end gates, but they do not appear to have any structural impact. The undercarriage is in good shape, with some surface rust typical of an older vehicle, but without any structural degradation. The front seats are bucket-style. The back seats are bench-style, and it has a heavy roll-bar set-up. The 33” tires are rugged, in great shape, and have a ton of wear left on them. The fuel gauge works, but the original oil pressure and temperature gauges do not. After-market gauges for oil pressure and temperature have been added below the glove box. An after-market tachometer has been added, but is not hooked up. There is a floor heater that works just behind the bucket seats, but isn’t hooked up. This vehicle has been titled in Virginia for the past six years, and is licensed as an antique. Title is clear. The vehicle is sold as is. Please send emails with questions, or prospective buyers are welcome to visit to inspect. The vehicle is 10 minutes from Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, so we would be glad pick up a buyer who flies in to DCA to take possession. This is a no-reserve auction. This FJ-40 is priced to move and will sell to the high bidder. This FJ-40 has the character of a true off-road vehicle. It is a real head turner wherever you drive, regardless of whether it is on a city street or up the side of a mountain. Payment Terms: The winning bidder/buyer is required to make a $1,000 deposit via PayPal within 72 hours of auction ending. Payment of the balance remaining is required by money order or cashier’s check within seven days of the auction ending. Shipping Terms: Buyer assumes responsibility for arranging vehicle pick-up, including any costs associated with such.
