1979 Chevy Corvette. Classic! (will post more info later) On May-17-10 at 14:29:01 PDT, seller added the following information: 1979 CHEVY CORVETTE Classic!! Still a champ wherever it goes. American Muscle Car classic. In very nice condition for this 31 year old classic. V8 power runs strong with good power, new brake master cylinder and fresh oil change and tune up. No overheating or mechanical issues. Drives and handles well, although the rear shocks could use some replacing. Tires are good with original Corvette Alloy rims and center caps. Also comes with the Original California Blue/yellow plates with chrome frames. Original black paint is still shiny but there are scratches, marks cracking here and there, and some paint chipping (see pic). Straight body with not accidents, there are however two small cracks on the passenger side wheel wells edges. Emblems were re-enameled and the tail lights, and front parking lights were re-cleared. The black interior was re-done a few years ago with new upholstery to seats and doors, new carpet, and carpet material on console side panels and storage bins. Seat belts are new. Rear compartment still has the working "shade" to cover your belongings. Console and gauges are good and dash has two cracks. Detachable Face KENWOOD CD player with 4 new speakers. Rubber Corvette floor mats show very little wear. I've oiled the window mechanisms and door handles so they work very well now. Also comes with the original "cassette" storage glovebox, jack, spare tire, and tool. Here are the flaws of the car besides the ones listed above: Horn button has been glued on and needs the interior clips/horn kit. Most of the weatherstripping needs replacing due to it's age; driver's exterior door handle needs to be bolted down, but it works fine; front "flags" emblem pictured is missing; driver's side lower aluminum trim has a dent (see pics); headlights work, but only pas. side is coming up (they both go down together though and lights do work), I'll try to get the driver's side working (just a vacuum leak somewhere I assume) before auction's end, but no promises; AC is not coming on; power antenna stays in the up position; the car idles and drives fine but I think the carb could use some adjusting. Ok, that is pretty much it. I bought this Corvette from an older gentleman who owned and drove it for the last 8 years, and I believe he got it from the original owner. California registration is currently in "NON-OP" STATUS, so registration should be minimal. I have not smogged this car. I believe the mileage is 155,000.
