RARE FIRST GENERATION DODGE CHARGER !! ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERS CAR !! I HOLD ONLY TRUE NO RESERVE AUCTIONS!! This is a rare find, stored indoors since early 1980, this 1st generation Dodge Charger would make an excellent addition for a MOPAR collection and a very worthwhile restoration or father/son project. This auction also has NO RESERVE, high bid takes it home. If winning bidder is in Southern California, I can assist with delivery, I also deliver to the shipping terminals in the Los Angeles area on a weekly basis. I do have a few bidder requirements at the bottom of the page, please read them and the entire listing BEFORE placing your bid. Please take the time to view the detailed pictures, I am very thorough when shooting and describing a vehicle and make every effort to catch as much detail as possible! This Charger is factory original Dodge with the exception of the wheels. This is a very solid and rust free car, but does have its mechanical/electrical needs, please consider this when placing your bid. Cosmetically, this Charger body is straight and perfect, no dents or dings at all. Stored indoors and out of the elements made all the difference to this car. As far as any rust goes, there isn't any, this Charger is solid as can be, the floors, trunk and undercarriage look excellent! Please view the pics of how solid the floors and trunk are and notice they still have the original factory paint. Tail lens corner has a chip. All glass looks good and is clean and clear. Front bumper will need straightened and rechromed, rear bumper will need rechromed but is straight. Passenger mirror top is missing, the "G" in "DODGE", rear glass lower chrome trim and the side "CHARGER" script emblems are missing. Exterior paint is faded and there is some overspray on the grill and a few grill teeth missing. This Dodge rides on Old school S/S Cragers wrapped with near new BFG tires, at least 99% tread. The factory interior will need both front seats redone, the drivers seat frame and mounts are in the trunk, it will also need padding. The rear seats are in excellent original condition as is the rare one year only full length console. Mechanically, the engine electrical harness will need replaced, it was missing from the car when we got it. We have cranked the engine over, but it seems to turn over very slow and to me it sounds like it is "dragging" so either way, it is sold as a non-runner. I have in hand the clean and clear California title on this Charger. The car is located in Moreno Valley, California 92551 (Southern California) near March Air Base. The engine casting number is 2536430 and tells me the car is equipped with a 7.2 liter 440, "RB" engine with the larger bore and longer stroke. Transmission casting number is 0F189194 which is the Torqueflight automatic. On Jun-04-10 at 09:43:33 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION ALL BIDDERS !! I CAN ONLY VERIFY THE CASTING NUMBER ON THIS 440 ENGINE, I CAN NOT LOCATE ANY NUMBERS CONNECTING IT TO THE VIN, SO WITH THAT SAID, I CANNOT GUARANTEE THIS IS THE CORRECT, NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE. THE CHARGER WAS LOOKED AT BY A MOPAR GUY A FEW MONTHS BACK AND HE DID CLARIFY THE ENGINE WAS CORRECT FOR 1966-1972.
