Vehicle Detail

1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Absolutely Pristine and Original VIN 2G1AN69H5E9111246 There’s an old saying in the collector car world: Any vehicle can be restored, given enough time and money, but it can only be factory-original once! If you follow our auctions regularly, you’ll remember our last low-mileage ‘84 Caprice crossed the Atlantic to a new home in Holland, and I’m sure there’s a good chance another European collector may end up with this exceptional Chevy, as it’s even nicer! I will go so far as to say this is the finest, cleanest, most original Caprice you will find anywhere in the world outside a museum! This car was owned and driven very sparingly here exclusively in the Seattle/Tacoma area over the past two and one-half decades. The 40,563 miles showing on the odometer has been represented to us as the original by the mega-franchise dealer that just took the car as a trade-in from the owner a few weeks ago. There is virtually NO detectible interior or exterior wear on this Caprice. I mean, it looks, sounds and drives like a SIX-MONTH-OLD NEW CAR! The all-original factory paint is the best you will EVER find. There are no rock chips on the front valance or even paint scratches. The factory chrome bumpers are un-pitted and unbelievable! Check out any of the door jambs, look at all the nooks and crannies under the hood and in the trunk. EVERYTHING there is spotless original. What you see in my photos is not the result of a detail, this car has never needed one! It literally had three sets of floor mats protecting the ultra-clean carpets when it came to us. The headliner, seats and seatbelts are IMPECCABLE. I’ve included free copy of the squeaky-clean AUTOCHECK report here on the eBay listing. Hit the tab above and print out a copy for yourself. You’ll be as impressed as I am! The car also qualifies for their Purchaser Buyback Protection Program as outlined in the report. With its great looks and aggressive stance this cruiser turns heads EVERYWHERE it goes - and is it ever fun to tool around in! If you have questions or would like to discuss a sale before the end of the eBay listing, feel free to contact me here at Best Auto. My name is Mark Thompson and my direct number is 206/914-1173. CONDITION: The photos really do tell the car’s story. I’m always happy when we come across these well-preserved, all original vehicles and are then able to offer them here to you! This Caprice still has the same reddish-tan metallic paint it wore the day it drove off the Arlington assembly line (yes, it still holds quite a shine too). I’m not a body or paint expert, but I find no evidence of any exterior work having been done. All the glass is great. The original bumpers and trim show well with no chrome pitting. Open the trunk and you’ll find the factory spare in place . There’s NO rust in the quarters – for that matter, you won’t come across any rust in the body. Feel free to climb over, under and around this nice sedan - I absolutely know you’ll come up smiling! Please take another good look at the interior pictures. Settle into the driver’s seat and you’d swear this Caprice is only a few years old based on appearance and feel. Everything is clean and factory original right down to the door pull handles. When was the last time you came across twenty-six year-old door panels this nice? I’m extremely impressed with the condition of the dash gauges, too. They’re as clear and bright as the day this rig left the plant. Mechanically I feel the car is in great shape. Even after sitting in our storage warehouse for a few days it starts right up at just about the first few cranks – you just can’t beat these bulletproof 5.0 Liter V-8’s! While driving it after we took delivery, I can tell you that it freeway accelerates to 65 MPH just as it should and that the brakes feel just fine – no pulling or fading. If you’re in the market for an original, museum quality, great driving Caprice Classic please give this car your kind attention. I seriously doubt you can find another in this shape, with these miles AND with a ridiculously low reserve! As a long-time Ebay seller with hundreds of satisfied online buyers, I want you to bid with confidence knowing that this car runs and drives as it should and that it is being properly represented to you. We’ve helped arrange long-distance shipping for many of our customers, but I also have no problem encouraging bidders to do what others from as far away as Alaska, Chicago, Arizona, Eastern Canada, Florida and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in (We’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International five miles away) and then drive home cross-country the same day! I wouldn’t hesitate (and in fact, I encourage you) to do so. I’ll have the Caprice gassed up and ready to go! Here’s how the VIN Code (1G1AN69H0EH146045) breaks down: 2 = Canadian Built G = GM 1 = Chevrolet A = Manual Seat Belts N = Caprice Classic 69 = four-door sedan body style H = 5.0 Liter 4 BBL Engine Code 5 = Check number – no meaning E = 1984 model year 9 = Plant This was the 146,045 Chevrolet built that year. TERMS OF SALE: You’re encouraged to check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! Come by and drive the Chevy at our premises during business hours if you’re in the area. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally, we reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed upon. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction’s end if you’re the winning bidder. The remaining balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Remember, you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You are not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later. You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you do decide to have the car shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Brokers will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. As an alternative, you might also get a quote from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're Ebay's preferred shipper and have a link attached to the Ebay Motors home page that I suggest looking at. The zip code for pick-up would be 98032 (Kent, Washington) to get an instant on-line quote from either source. The costs of shipping the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. We can assist by bringing your purchase to the nearest DAS terminal in Lakewood, WA (98499) for an additional $100. DAS normally charges about $200.00 to pick up at our door. Make sure you inquire with your shipper for information regarding insurance coverage on the vehicles they transport. The car can be stored free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after full payment has been made. Additional Terms and Requirements: The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington we’ll need to collect the 9.5% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees. A Buyer from outside Washington will pay only a $50 document fee. Because the Caprice is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to notify bidders and cancel this auction early if the car is no longer available for sale online. It is being sold as-is, where-is. All information described above is based on the observed condition when the listing was placed. I've done my very best to describe the car as honestly as possible. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington.
