Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is my 1955 Packard Patrician. I purchased this car from a gentleman in New York City last year and unfortunatley it has sat in my barn since then. A lack of time, space, and divorce requires that I put the car up for sale. As best as I can tell, the car is originally from California. The license plate frames say "Danyluk Motors, Glendale California." While Danyluk Motors is out-of-business, it was a Packard Dealership in Glendale in the Fifties. This car is in remarkably good shape for being 55 years old and would take very little work to be a top-notch car. Many of the Packards on eBay and elsewhere are found with rust in the lower quarter panels or rough interiors. Not this Patrician. The body is solid, the doors close without rattling and line-up as they should, the glass is still in very good shape and not delaminating, the headliner does not sag, and the interior seats, carpet, and even dash are in very good shape. The motor starts, the transmission shifts as it should, the power steering works, and the brakes work well. The engine does not smoke, but it does drip a drop or two of oil once it is warmed-up. The paint is in overall good shape. The following things would need to be addressed: the "Reynolds Wrap" trim is in good shape, but there are some dents in the side trim - the bumpers have some slight pitting and will eventually need re-chromed; the power windows and radio do not work - I don't know if this is a fuse issue or not, but as I've said, I haven't had time to tinker with it; the driver's door interior trim needs to be re-attached to the door; the driver's side exhaust has a leak in it; and, the trunk lock needs to be replaced. In addition to some brochures from 1955, I also have a set of chrome valve covers that will go with the car. This Patrician is sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Keep in mind, this car is 55 years old and is NOT perfect - better than some, not as good as others. If you wish to inspect the car, please contact me. I will be happy to work with your shipping company in terms of making the car available for pick-up. The successful bidder must make contact with me within 24 hours of the close of the auction and provide a non-refundable deposit of $1,000.00 (US Dollars) within forty-eight (48) hours of the close of the auction and the balance within five (5) business days of the close of the auction. Cash and certified check in US Dollars drawn on a US Bank ONLY. When your check/funds clear my bank, you get the title and the keys. I reserve the right to sell the car outside of this auction process and terminate the auction early - therefore if you are interested, all reasonable offers will be considered.
