Here we have a very nice 1955 Chevy BelAir Convertible This car was purchased from an estate in New York. I did some research and found that the numbers on the trim tag match the paint and trim codes. This car was always a Harvets Gold and white car, with two tone green interior,(currently white) and black carpet, and a white convertible top. This color, in my opinion, was the best color of that year and one of the rarest. The car was painted recently and looks great. All the gold BelAir trim and stainless is in very good shape, and the mirror and door handles are flawless. All the glass is free of chips and cracks, and the window frames are in great condition. The interior is excellent even though it is not correct, and the convertible top and padding look new with no visible defects that I can find. The convertible top frame is excellent and goes up and down as it should, and lines up perfect with the windshield latches. The power top pump, pistons, and lines are all new. I would drive this car as is, without question, it looks that good! The underside of the car looks to have factory under coating. The frame has been painted a semi gloss black and looks nice. There is evidence of some metal repairs made to the trunk pan and the rear floor pans at some point, but everything is painted or under coated, looks clean, and has held up fine. The spare tire well is very nice and rust free. According to the codes, this is a V8 car with a two barrel carb, and a three speed transmission. The car still retains a 265 V8 2 barrel and I have a complete power steering assy with a rebuilt generator. I have detailed the whole engine compartment. I drove the car, and it shifts fine and goes down the road great. All the electric components work as they should. This 55 is well equipped with options including the following: New Bumpers and guards New Rocker mouldings New fender front gravel guards Power top Full hub caps Factory floor mats Wide white wall radial tires (new) Convertible top boot cover Electric wipers Courtesy under dash lighting New Dual exhaust Seat Belts I checked all the brakes and drums and they look excellent, even the emergency brake works as it should. Charging system checks out, and new fuel filter installed. She is ready for the road or to show. I hope I look as good as this car when I turn 55!
