1973 is a great year for classic BMWs. This bike is in excellent condition and would be rated at 95 of 100. It has been kept inside for 9 years by me and was kept inside by the previous owner too. Recent maintenance includes a complete top end rebuild - hone cylinders, new rings and pushrod seals and gaskets. Head has new valves, guides and springs (done by Matt Parkhouse in Colorado Springs). Carburetors overhauled including new needles and jets. Tune up with plugs, twinmax tune of carbs, and oil change. Tires have approximately 1500 miles since new. I was told when I bought this bike that this is the true mileage. I pulled the rear wheel and there is no appreciable wear on the hub splines. Everything works correctly - signals, lights, alternator, tach and speedo, etc. Brakes are in very good condition. There are some scratches on the left crash bar (bike fell over in the rain while parked). Paint is in excellent condition overall. Includes a passenger backrest. Frame and engine number match.
