Vehicle Detail

You are viewing a 1996 FORD MUSTANG GTS/248A w/ 93,XXX miles. I know you are wondering: "What is a GTS/248A?" It is the name Ford gave to "stripped" down GT's in 1995 and 1996, and the idea was to save cost (to the consumer) and weight. These cars did not have power windows or locks, but had 3.27 gears, whereas other GT's had 3.08 gears. Some said the GTS/248A's were "race prepped", but I'm not really sure how true that is. Exterior paint color is "deep forest green metallic", it is the original paint, but has a deep gloss, great shine and is in really good shape! Interior is complete and grey in color. Headlights and front side markers are "clears". Car has many modifications such as: Bassani catalytic X-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chamber cat-back, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, Ford Motorsport 3.73 gears, Eibach lowering springs, Kenne Brown subframe connectors, Pro 5.0 short-throw shifter, Motorsport aluminum driveshaft, 15% tinted windows all around, When running, the car sounded terrific, it's got that sweet Mustang with Flowmasters exhaust note! It's also got 17x9 Cobra R rims w/ P275-40/ZR-17 BF Goodrich G-Force TAs all around. They barely fit in the front, but look great. There are a few (very minor) scratches and dents expected from a 14 year old car, but that being said: for a 14 year old car, the body is downright nice. The paint really shines up well and I really love this color...you will too. This car is/was my baby. I am the original owner and have taken good care of it. The mileage is low (no odometer roll-back trickery here, I assure you) due to the fact that it sat for like 4 years while I was stationed overseas. It was started and driven by my family regularly while I was gone. The issue that needs to be addressed is that the engine is partially disassembled as you can see from the pics. I was swapping the camshafts and intake manifold for "Performance Improved/PI" versions from the '99-'04 cars. The swap turned out to be a bit above my mechanical experience level and I "jumped time" and bent a valve when reassembling it (I think). I did not realize this until getting it back together and driving it around for a bit and the check engine light came on. Downloaded code P0306: (Misfire Cylinder 6). Had a compression test done and only showed 50psi on that cylinder. This is most likely attributed to a bent valve or worn rings. I was in the process of tearing the motor back apart when I lost interest, became frustrated and bought an '03 Cobra. The poor car has sat ever since. I really hate to see her go. Probably the best thing might be to install a crate motor, possibly PI or stroker and have at it. I just don't have the time or patience to go through w/ it. I'm telling you all this car needs is a motor and can still be a looker/runner...everything else is there. I don't have any illusions and I know the engine needing replacement/rebuild is a tough pill to swallow, so I am letting my baby go on the cheap as much as it breaks my heart. I probably have $50K in this car all told, but it's just sitting there so I gotta let it go. As far as the title, it's a clear Maryland title and I have it in-hand. I have many parts available seperate from the car on E-Bay that were previously installed. I would be willing to work out a deal w/ the would-be owner if they were interested. The parts include: recently factory rebuilt Powerdyne BD-11 head unit supercharger complete w/ brackets/belt/blow-off valve/piping, PA Performance 200amp alternator (less than 10 hours of use), Meziere electric water pump (less than 10 hours of use), Fluidyne aluminum radiator (less than 10 hours of use), PI intake manifold, and (8) 30# Motorsport injectors. Car is also for sale locally, so seller retains all rights to end auction early if necessary. Winning bidder responsible for shipping/delivery options and all costs. Seller makes no warranty of any kind. Please understand, like stated above, this car needs major engine work/replacement, so it will need to be trailered away (local/nearby purchase would probably be best). Sorry, no returns/refunds. $500 deposit required through PayPal w/ 48 hours of auction close. Any questions, please contact me through e-bay or phone me anytime (702)545-7285 I will be up front and honest w/ you as I have nothing to hide on this one. Thanks for looking and Happy Biding!!! On May-14-10 at 11:42:04 PDT, seller added the following information: EDIT: notice the Auto Check Score compared to other similar vehicles. Telling you all, except for the engine issue (I know that's a big one, I know), this car is good to go. Also info on the: "# of owners: 2" thing, that would be me and my mom, she cosigned for me since I was only 19 and had no credit back in '96. So it is a 1 owner car for those who would like to know. Thanks!
