Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1934 Buick 60 series (Model 67) touring sedan, dual sidemounts with trunk rack. This was the second to the largest Buick built in 1934 with a 128 inch wheelbase. Buick almost went out of business in 1934 because of the depression and built very few cars. Most Buicks sold in 1934 were the small 40 series built on a 114 inch Chevrolet frame. They could no longer afford to build any 70 or 80 series Buicks, only a handful of 90 series on special order, and I have yet to see one for sale in any condition. The Buick registry only shows a half dozen or so of the Model 67 still around. I waited for years to find this car. I've had it about 10 years. Last fall I had my restorer clean the fuel tank and fuel lines, rebuild the carburetor with a new float, clean and service the throttle body with all linkages and replace the center piece of the manifold with a newly cast and machined unit......not cheap to say the least. 1934 was the first year for GM's newly introduced automatic choke and gaspedal / starter combination. The starter was rebuilt as well as the old-fashioned mechanical solenoid setup. The mechanical brake lines were repaired / replaced, rear drums turned down, and new shoes placed. The car has two sets of wheels. The original pinstriped wheels are off the car and have tires that are 60 plus years old. The wheels on the car are original artillary wheels like the other ones, but I had them sandblasted and powdercoated. The whitewalls are not new but are good useable tires. The hood spears and center strip were re-chromed. I also had the seals in the rear axle replaced to stop any leaks. The car now drives well, although I never drove it more than a few miles after the mechanical repairs because none of my cars are insured. The pictures show the condition of the car.......original paint with some scrapes and minor dents, typical of these cars are scrapes from opening and closing the hood. The running board rubber covers will need to be replaced, but they are obtainable. The interior is original and has tears. The rear window and side windows have the original pull down shades. The glass is all intact. The bumpers show some surface rust but there is no cancer anywhere on the car. The odometer shows 74,000 miles and appears to be the original mileage..... a Pennsylvania inspection sticker from 1961indicates when it was last driven regularly......and verifies what I was told when I bought it. There's a lot of patina on this car. You can keep this car original or restore it as you go......please don't hot-rod it......It has too many rare parts. The other two Buicks in the pictures have already been sold. I'm selling off my collection one by one. I will be losing my job shortly and need to pay some bills. Please e-mail with questions or call 541-430-4270 in the evenings. The car is located on my parent's farm near Salem, Oregon and is three hours from where I live. Thanks.
