Vehicle Detail

This is a 386 HP Hemi not a 340 standard police issue car with an improvement in torque from 395 to 420 Ft LBS. I purchased the car from Ken Garff West Valley Chrysler Utah. (Ken Garff is the major dealer for police vehicles for law enforcement) Originally this car was leased to the Pleasant Grove Police Department. It was put in service as a patrol car with a lightbar and all applicable signal and warning devices. Pleasant Grove Utah is a small, quiet community south of Salt Lake City Ut. It has one 50mph artery going through it and is tucked away from major traffic and is nestled against the Wasatch Mountains. In other words their cars do not see heavy service, such as a Salt Lake Car or the Highway Patrol. Ken Garff is very strict about service to their lease vehicles. This car was turned in approximately 8 months ago. I was fortunate to come across it as I was looking for a dual purpose vehicle. One to be used for personal use as well as utilization in the role as a Federal Law enforcement agent. The vehicle had 28,000 miles on the odometer. It had some superficial scratches on the surface from removing the decals (Police Shield on doors, Community services on rear fenders and so on) that identified it as a Patrol Vehicle. The asking price was $19,995. The car needed tires and because of the scratches I was able to negotiate a better price. The original window sticker was in the glove box ($30,245) along with a complete set of manuals and service history. Mechanically the car was flawless. Now this is very important to understand. Since the car was going to be used for a Federal agent, almost all of the Whelen safety equipment (description to follow) was retained. The new job was secured but the transfer and authorization letter was still a few months away. For compliance, the red and blue, (behind the grill) Whelen lights were removed along with the lightbar on the roof. It displayed Red and Blue as well. The new role it was eventually going to be used for would not need a lightbar and would be more covert. So since red and blue cannot be displayed, the behind the grill lights and light bar were removed, and everything else was retained. However what was left behind was disconnected and would require a technician for reconnection. Though not currently connected the front wig wags and the whelen box are intact. All wiring to the Whelen Control unit are in order. No wires were cut, so to facilitate the re hook up would be easy. The rear strobes in the taillights (Clear Whelen) and the rear covert light bar hidden as a rear brake light in the upper rear window were left in place. The Whelen control unit was sent back to be reinspected, reconditioned and put back in to ensure a new full duty cycle. (fuse to the control unit was removed) All wiring for new behind the grill lights as well as for a deck light for the front windshield are in place. The car in the future would not use a light bar but would have a Whelen Avenger that displayed clear but would flash Red & Blue in the upper middle of the windshield. Also the loud speaker/siren (whelen slim profile, 100 Watt) was replaced with a brand new unit and wired and ready for reconnection. The control unit is an all in one. It has 9 different light bar settings, and is also a loudspeaker as well as a yelp, wail, tactical and siren with built in amplifier. The console as well as a laptop stand (removable) come with the vehicle. The radio was removed but the salt shaker antennas were left and the wiring to the source was not cut. Once I received the car I made many upgrades. The V rated tires were ready to be replaced and I found a receipt in the glove box that Pleasant Grove Police had purchased a new set at the 16K mark for $941 including alignment. V rated tires have no mileage warranty and the normal replacement is every 15k. I purchased a new set of Michelin H rated Primacy tires (rated 130mph for one hour as opposed to 150 mph) These tires were purchased from Sam's Club and were recommended for the Charger R/T, and they have a 60,000 mile warranty. With the extra savings (over the long haul) I installed a K&n cold air kit ( 57-1542 21.09 HP @ 5216 RPM) A Hypertech Max Power Programmer (Premium Octane: +16HP +18TQ) All included in the sale of this vehicle) And a Magnflow stainless steel cat back exhaust with straight flow muffler, True X resonator, 4 inch angle rolled SS tip, with dual rear exit - part number 15628 which added an additional 9HP Standard Police is 340HP and 395 Ft Lbs torque and now this car has a certifiable 386HP and 425 (30 ft lb gain) in Torque. To duplicate the performance modifications with labor (close to 2K) The police gear that is still in the car (close to 3K) and that is not all. At 29,000 miles I had the cross drilled rotors resurfaced and new police pads installed at all four wheels. The car was due for a full and its most expensive service at 30K. The cost was $700. This included replacing all fluids (including transmission) Mobil 1 Synthetic 5-20, new spark plugs (incidentally the Hemi takes 16 and it is recommended that they be replaced every 30,000 miles. (For full Hemi Power) Radiator flush, fuel injectors cleaned and so on. (I have also used only Chevron with Techron - Premium - since the purchase ) I was offered and it still qualifies for an extended factory warranty. However after talking to the service specialist and the mechanic and knowing the service history of the car, I declined as they felt that the engine was the smoothest that they had in and the transmission shifts like butter. However it is important to note that the car has 1500 miles of bumper to bumper left and that it expires this coming August. Until the warranty expires, one can still purchase an actual factory warranty. Any Dodge dealer can give you figures and details as they vary, You can go bumper to bumper or just power train and if powertrain, you can go for 50K 72K or ? details can again be requested from any Dodge dealer. The reason this is important is that though, I feel the car is flawless mechanically and is fresh and drives as new (literally no rattles or squeaks, perfect wheel alignment, and incidentally their is not even the slightest ding in the body, just a strong like new Car, if you purchase the car, I will drive it to you anywhere in the nation for delivery, but would request that for the price I am asking, that you pay for my transportation back to Salt Lake--- is that if I drive the car over 1500 miles to get it to you, the car would then not qualify for a factory warranty. If you would like to arrange your own transportation of fly in to purchase I would be happy to pick you up at the SLC UT airport. If you would like a warranty please let me know Why am I even considering selling this car. Last month I started having chest pains and at a local military installation was informed that I have a life threatening illness. Essentially it would require the removal of my esophogus and along with other factors this is a life and career changing set of circumstances. The car is ready to be placed into service or to be used for personal use. I have the cover plate for the Whelen Control unit. The laptop unit can be taken out and I have plugs for the spot light. It would then appear to be a Charger Hemi, but with 386HP. One thing I also liked about 2007 is that the electronic traction control can be turned completely off. If pulling onto an icy road, I would like to control the acceleration. With it on, there were times, the car, to prevent slippage would not accelerate well enough to merge safely. With the control completely off, one can take advantage of any traction. After 2007 this feature was removed. Also being a multi displacement engine, I drove from SLC UT to Idaho Falls, Idaho and back on a single tank (480 miles) and I know for a fact that mileage has improved significantly with the upgrades while improving performance and the cost to run premium as opposed to mid grade has been negated by the improvements. 24-26 mph at 75mph with mountain passes and varying terrain is realistic. I am 58 years old and have owned many cars. I have a little bit of Chip Foose in me (famous car designer and hot rodder) and enjoy solid performing automobiles I owned a 69 charger with a 440 and this is even much more car. I am asking for a solid $17,500 for a quick sale price. I am into the car well above the 21K mark. The cars vin confuses banks and insurance companies for book value. Interestingly the insurance companies rate it for the Charger SE (which saves premium over a R/T and the NADA book and banks use the Charger SXT or the SE for book value. Incidentally at America First, where I took out the loan for the car -- the retail book is over 20K and that is without all of the performance upgrades or the police equipment that has been retained. All Charger Police cars for sale to the general population have had everything removed and many if not all have had the wiring and the looms and so on, along with holes and other careless extractions of equipment either removed or damaged. I absolutely know in my heart of hearts that this is an extremely solid and tight car. The only unfortunate part is the some of the slight scratches and the marks where the light bar was mounted (pictures to show) this spring if unforseen circumstances had not occurred, I would buff them out as they are just normal and superficial. From just a few feet away the car looks new, it is only when close and looking for it can you find them, But this is a used car that, --with police equipment and performance upgrades---- if purchased new a 34-35K car for almost half the price. I can live with a few scratches, In other words just normal usage type of marks. (Out of 10 this car from the outside is a 8.5 still well above average) also the interior is almost like new. The rear seats are cloth and have never really been sat on until I purchased the car and my children sat in the back. All of the floor mats and carpet are in excellent shape. (I just paid off the car because of my medical condition and so I have a free and clear title. The car has never had any damage. The underside looks flawless with no dings, dents or oil leakages of any kind. (Picture included) Any questions, please feel free to contact me. I hope that the pictures are worth a thousand words. . Again once purchased I would be happy to assist with transportation. If you cannot arrange ground transport or fly to SLC and drive the car home and I bring it to you, then I am requesting fair for a return flight to SLC. The least expensive flight that you can find, regardless of stopovers. I also need a 500 dollar immediate deposit that is non refundable and only refundable if their is any misleading or embellishment to the above description. I have too much on my plate to consider absurd offers. I have sold another car on ebay and the buyer found me to be totally forthright and correct in my dealings.
