Vehicle Detail
VERY RARE and very original car! the 202 UH had a production run between 1946 and 1949. A total of 30,358 of the 202 UH were produced, unfortunately we do not know how many were the these 'Limousine Commerciales en bois verni' vs the other utility body styles ( 'Camionnette Bachee', 'plateaux' or 'fourgonnettes'). As a comparison, 139,718 202s were produced all in all. Most were all metal sedans (La Berline, 202 B or BH) This is one of only three 'Canadiennes' we have located. The other two we have identified are in France (at the Peugeot Museum in Sochaux http://www.musee-peugeot.com), and the other one is currently in Germany to the best of our knowledge. Condition The Engine was last run in 1991, when we purchased it. It was run with gravity feed (gas can on roof ). We believe the wood is ash, with most pieces in good shape. (about three need restoring/replacement). The panels are a masonite that should either be painted as was original. There is only surface rust as can be seen in photos, car is very solid. Upholstery needs replacing, as does the header cloth. The odometer states 02517 kilometers, we do not know whether it has turned over 100,000km. History The car originally 'lived' in Pont sur Yonnes in the Yonnes Departement in France (in the Bourgogne ), as is on the registration document we have with the car. Thankfully it sat in a barn for many years, in a dry climate first in Yonne then after purchasing it in Belgium we shipped it to Colorado, where it sat for the past 20 years, waiting to be restored. Alas, we have not had the time, and do not expect to for the foreseeable future, and feel it should go to someone who will! Also included is a manual (not original -"Les Archives du Collectionneur" which has maintenance, technical and part information. Vehicle is not currently Titled/Registered as it has not been on the road (registered/plates) since it was in France. It will likely need to be a bonded title, since it is foreign and has not been 'registered/active' for so long. We have the history of ownership, location etc as well as The last French registration, and Belgian Docs showing owners since 1952.
