1983 Porsche 944. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR. Our customer bought this 944 in 2002 and brought it in for some service, but then for unknown reasons, he parked this car in his yard and that is where it stayed for at least 5 years. It was a great looking and great running car in 2002, but now it has issues from being stored outside under a tree. The customer traded this car in on on an Audi from our used car lot. We drained the gas tank and spent a lot of time cleaning the car. Currently it runs well and drives surprisingly well once it is started and warmed up. It starts hard cold, as the injectors are not in good condition. The fuel filter has been changed, and it has good fuel pressure and flow. . It needs a better ignition wire set. It has good oil pressure, good compression, and the engine sounds exactly as it should with no knocking, exhaust leaks or major oil leaks. The cooling system works well. The shocks suspension and power steering are all good and the car rides and steers very well. The lights and the headlight doors work correctly. The hood struts are good and the hood stays up when opened. We do not know the timing belt history. The power windows work well. The wiper runs a little slow. The clutch slave cylinder has been changed and the clutch and transmission work very well. The brakes have rust on the rotors, but as it is driven, the rust is being knocked off. The motor mounts are decent, as the engine does not vibrate though the car. The battery is very good and the alternator and starter are fine. The heater works, but the a/c is dead. The sun roof is manual and lifts out as it should. The dash has an overlay, and the overlay is cracking. There is no radio. The antenna is broken. The tires look nice, but they have flat spots from sitting.There are 4 very nice aftermarket wheels in excellent condition. The exhaust is good. The headliner is good. The carpets are quite nice. The glass is good. The door liners are good. The seat cloth is falling apart. The rear hatch is not opening as the lock seems to be rusted up. It needs a new oil pressure sender. The other gauges work correctly. The interior smells like a car that has sat under a tree for 5 years. It does not smell like mouse pee and we have not found mouse damage. There is NO rust on this car. The paint is chipped in the front and all over the car there are spots where tree sap damaged the finish. The front valence under the front bumper appears to be aftermarket. The odometer has rolled over once, and we believe the mileage to be correct, but it is sold MILEAGE UNKNOWN.
