I bought this car from my brother 3 years after he had it customized in California by R Straman Coachbuilders. I am not into car restoration, which this car is in need of. The underbraces installed during the customization have weakend over the years so the doors don't line up properly. I have been informed that the sides of the frame need to be reinforced. A local body shop gave me an estimate of $2,000 for the repair. The engine has a very speratic occurance of starving for gas (like a vapor lock) that I have not benable to to solve. Have recently been informed that the problem sounds like a bad fuel filter at the tank. Other wise the car runs great and a lot of fun to drive with a MPG of 47 to 50 (last time checked) As the photos show there are some interior and exterior repairs needed to get this unusual vehicle back to par. It also need new speakers (radio works ok), clutch and brake pedal pads, dash vent deflector and cig lighter. Maintance performed according to factory recommendations. New tires, battery,vacum lines repaired and engine ignitor install in last 2 years. There is no convertable frame stamp but the door jamb tag date is 8/1988. The purchaser will be responsible for the pick up of the car from my residence and payment by a certified check at which time I'll sign over the title. Again this car needs some loving care but will return a lot of fun and onlookers.
