1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel L Converted to Run on Used Vegetable Oil (SVO, WVO) Conversion:Greasecar System (http://www.greasecar.com/) with 10 Gallon Tank Two-tank System (Regular Diesel or Veggie Oil Tank) - This means filtered recycled vegetable oil, not just biodieselVeggie Oil System has a tank heater using a heat exchange and heating coil on vegetable oil fuel filter (Quick for faster startup)Electronic Switch w/ Purge Option (Use for 30 seconds to 1 minute before shutting off to flush lines of veggie oil) I still have the Installation Manual for the conversion Vehicle Features:Aftermarket 5-Speed TransmissionFull-size spare wheelTape-deckManual SunroofRoof RackNO major rust problems - California only carCustom Carpeted Dashboard Cover (Dashboard is peeling/chipping off paint)Will include small jack w/ two jack stands I used for minor work on the car Major Vehicle Maintenance (Since purchasing):New timing belt and tensionerRebuilt/resealed fuel injectorBrake service w/ flush - New master cylinder, 2 wheel cylinders, 2 brake hoses, hub bearingNew CV boots (One new axle)New Oil Pressure Switch to address leakMaaco Paintjob (09/2008)Most recently, a new battery and new fuel filters for the two systems Known Issues/Concerns (Want to provide full disclosure):Needs a new pair of tires (uneven/bad wear on front right tire)Clutch is tempermental (Worn Throw Out Bearing may be the issue but works fine for now) Back Up lights not functioning due to corroded electrical switch/plug at transmissionOnly rust issue is at bottom of rear window on the hatch (about 6 inches of rust under window seal, but was sanded down and partly patched during paint job/window replacement)Windshield washer only works sometimesHorn won't work on occasionSpeakers are pretty lousy/blown so I run everything out of the best one in the right frontNote: These are all the issues I can think of, but please feel free to ask me ANY questions you have about the vehicle condition. Why I Am Selling:I have put a lot of  hard work into converting and maintaining this car and have loved every minute of it.  Letting it go is hard, but these funds will afford me a vacation before I move to Portland next year where I will not be needing a car (bike friendly!).  I hope that the next owner gets as much enjoyment out of it and get a gas vehicle off the road.
