Vehicle Detail

Up for auction "for the last time " is my 1969 Chevrolet C-10 Short Bed pick up truck...I have owned this truck for 6 years and am the second owner.... When I got the truck it was in need of a paint job, so I had the original paint professionally stripped and repainted the original color with base coat- clear coat... $5,500.00 paint job.... the only rust spot was a small dime-size hole in the lower driver side door... This truck spent the first 36 years of its life on the Island of Maui....I brought it to the Mainland a year after I got it ( 5 years ago) The truck has its original 307 V8 still in it and it runs great... The original owner stated he never went over 2,000 miles without an oil change and filter... I've continued to do so.... The original 3 spd stick is also intact... (column shift)... The inside of the bed is in great condition also...The original owner brushed on some sort of rust inhibitor on the inside of the bed many years ago and it worked great... I recently had a bedliner installed for appearances... I installed new tires on it about 200 miles ago...Being a Hawaii truck, it was delivered without a heater and defroster... It also does not have a radio.... It's basically a bare bones vehicle... Exterior still has the appearance of well spent money for the paint job....Front and rear window gaskets were changed when the paint was done...Also,the front fenders were removed and cut in while being painted ... The exterior trim is in real good condition for it's age... The chrome front bumper shows a little flaking... I recently had the front seat redone in a cloth to make driving on hot summer days a little more enjoyable.... The dash is in great condition also... The padded dash has been covered since it was new... It's still nice and soft... The dash still is all original with a few nicks in it and all the gauges work perfect... The back-up lamps even work....About the only negative thing about it it that once in a while the shifter linkage will bind... Very common for all old Chevy 3spd linkages ...a quick fix under the hood remedies it...Under the hood is clean but has not been restored... Still has its orinigal radiator, starter, alternator, etc... I recently had a point-less distribuator installed and a new 2bbl carb... ( I've kept the originals for cores)... If you are looking for a 69 Chevy truck that no one has messed with and almost appears to be a time capsule... THIS IS ONE FOR YOU.... I'm selling it for one reason... I am down-sizing my collection and I need the space in my storage area... I am very reluctantly offering this vehicle for sale at a buy it now price of $8,000.00 ...My reserve is slightly lower... I've got a lot more than that into it and please keep in mind this was not a rusted, banged up vehicle when I acquired it... If it does not sell this time around, into long-time storage it will go and in a few years I'll probably be quite glad I didn't sell it... One last thing... This truck is not a full-on show truck... I built it to drive and enjoy....( I've put 8,000 miles on it since it was painted....) It is a very dependable vehicle and gets pretty good gas mileage.... If you win it, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I have.... ANY QUESTIONS ? Please email me... I will be glad to answer all of your questions... Thanks for lookin'... Winning bidder must make $500.00 deposit via PAYPAL within 48 hours... Balance to be paid by cashiers check, certified check, cash or ???? Funds must clear before release of vehicle... I do have a 100% CLEAR title ( still HAWAII ) in my name ready to sign over to the new owner.... I will assist you in shipping at my end... Once again... THANKSOn Apr-21-10 at 19:27:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry for the problem, my internet service has been down from Tuesday 4-20 until Wednesday 4-21 at about 4 pm... I know I have received a few questions regarding my truck and unfortunately was not able to answer them... If anyone is still interested in asking those questions, please do so...Also, I temporarally have the truck stored in a neighbors garage and he will not be back so I can gain access to it for another 3 days... For this reason I'm unable to take any additional photos of it... My phone number is 1-808-250-2689... Thanks Tim
