Vehicle Detail
I am relisting my car due to a deadbeat buyer. He read the description and still told me he found another car cheaper and didnt want to pay as much as he bid for mine!! He said he did not know the horn ring was chipped on the sides, (its in the pictures) and the drivers door needs adjusted, (its 56 years old, may need some adjusting) All this after coming and driving my car for 30 minutes and wasting my time for a joyride. Anyway, look at the original listing and stay away from that buyer, he is NOT honest and cost me time and a sale. So here it is back up for auction. PLEASE!!!!! BID TO BUY, IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY, DONT BID. IF YOU HAVE TO CHECK WITH YOUR WIFE, DO THAT FIRST. IF YOU WANT TO COME SEE AND DRIVE IT, COME DO THAT FIRST!! I will be happy to meet you and let you see it and drive it. I have nothing to hide and want the buyer to be happy! Up for sale/auction is my 1954 Plymouth Savoy Club coupe. I have done a lot of work to the car to get it back to a great driver! As you can tell it sat inside a shed unused for many years and was well protected. It is an original unmolested car and is complete! After bringing it home, and purchasing a complete shop manual which goes with the car, I started with the fuel system. The tank was cleaned and lines flushed. It has a new fuel pump, hose, and then I had the carburator rebuilt. Then to the engine electrical, I had the starter rebuilt, and bought new points, condenser, coil, plugs, plug wires, and went to an 8 volt battery. I changed the oil and bought a new filter for it. After a few tries the engine fired and runs like a top! It does not smoke or knock, or make any obsene noises. I then flushed the radiator and added new anti-freeze. The transmission is the classic power-flight which led in later years to the torque-flight automatic. It is a two speed transmission and has new fluid and shifts great! I then went to the brakes. I rebuilt all six wheel cylinders, yes six, it has two on each front wheel, and also rebuilt the master cylinder. Bought all new rubber brake hoses, and replaced several hardlines which looked weak to me. The system works good and the car stops as it should! I then went to the lights and bulbs and turn signals. I bought a bulb and fuse kit and replaced them. It was an interesting task as the car is still the original positive ground system. I removed the steering wheel and rebuilt the turn signal system and it works great. All the dash lights turn signals and indicators, and headlights, brake lights, and taillights work. Even the interior dome light works. The windshield wipers are a two speed system and they work great. I then went to work on the heater/defroster. The blower motor for the heater worked fine but the defroster motor was bad so I got a new one for it. They both work fine now and have two speeds also. The heater core is located out under the hood and it needed to be repaired. I removed it and have not taken it to be repaired yet. With spring coming on I was ready to start driving it and so the core is in the trunk waiting to be taken to a radiator shop or a new one ordered. I wanted to fix the old tube style radio and so I removed the unit and it is in the trunk as well. I took the original repair paper I found in the radio and scanned it on my computer, then blew it up so it is easier to read. I have not ordered the tubes yet, but they are available online, and it does need a new speaker. The glass is all great and windows work fine. I ordered and installed a new cowl vent rubber seal and that is nice on warm days for ventilation too! The body is in good shape as well! It did have some floorpan rust which I repaired with new sheetmetal and sealed and undercoated. No holes or problems with the exterior body panels that I can see. As far as the paint it does need a paint job as you can tell. I think this is the original paint?? but not sure. The interior is pretty good. The seats are great and comfortable! The carpet is sun faded as you can see in the pics, but it is in good shape. The most worn part is the headliner, I cleaned it and it could stand to be replaced. Its ok for now but thats up to you! I have been driving the car all over the place and was getting a vibration I didnt like, so after checking everything from ball joints to wheel balance I discovered the tires were out of round. So the car has brand new tires!! Just got them put on and now it it smooth as silk going down the road. The car will cruise the highway or in town just fine! As far as the terms of the sale I will need 10% deposit within 3 days of end of auction and the balance before the car and title are released. If you would like to see the car and test drive it I will be happy to have you do that!! I am in south Oklahoma city neer I-35, and easy to get to. If you buy the car and have it shipped I will be glad to meet the shipping company and help load her up. The cost of shipping is up to the buyer, the zip code is 73160. If you have any SERIOUS questions or want to set up a test drive, please e-mail me at rpinok@aol.com or call me at 405-826-9150. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction as long as the reserve has not been met. I will not end it after that! Please dont email me or call to ask what the reserve is, as thats not fair to other bidders. I will tell you it is very fair for this car and less than the lowest NADA classic car value listed. By the way this is the bigger 230 six cylinder engine and not the 218. That with the automatic transmission makes this a collectable and fun car to have! So bid often and bid to buy. PLEASE do not bid to come look at the car. Bid to BUY!!! Thanks for looking!!!! Ron
