Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1979 Lincoln Continental mark V Bill Blass edition. I have a good Idaho title in my name. The car is just out of Boise Idaho, about 6 miles north of I-84. The zip is 83616. This is a nice looking car. It was repainted and had a new carriage top installed about 5 years ago. Looks great from 20 feet away. Up close it still looks pretty good, with the only eye sore is a rust spot on the front right of the hood (see pic). This is the only rust spot in the car. I have no idea how a rust spot formed there, but it did. The interior is not so nice, but usable. It is showing signs of its age. The head liner is starting to come lose at some of the seams. The BAD The power windows don't work, the power seats don't work, the stereo is gone, and the PLEASE READ " the brake lights do not work". All of the other lights work. You can drive this in the day (as I do) by turning on the parking lights every time you stop. The GOOD The car is a very strong runner. I have owned nine 1979 Lincoln in my life and non of them have had this much power or ran this good. Unusually strong for the 400. The transmission shifts excellent. If you punch it it will shift right into passing gear and away you will go, then it will shift right back up nice and smooth. The car drives very straight and has good tires. The brakes are marvelous. They stop this 4700 pond land yacht firmly, and smoothly, with zero vibration. very unusual in these cars. This was a heavily optioned car. The factory options include the following. Bill Blass edition with carriage top, Tilt wheel, cruise control, P door looks and trunk release, illuminated entry, out side thermometer in drivers review mirror, garage door opener, automatic head lights with twilight sentinel, rear window defroster with heated drivers mirror, miles to empty indicator, Quadraphonic stereo (but now missing), reclining passenger seat, P lumbar driver seat. A $200 deposit is due with in 48 hours of the end of auction, by paypal. The balance is due with in 7 days of end of auction, and can be mad by cash in person, paypal, cashiers cheek, or personal cheek, or international money order if you are out side the US. If paying by any kind of a cheek, or MO the car will be held until it has cleared my bank. It is the buyer responsibility to pick up or ship car. The buyer has 90 days from end of auction to pick up car. If not a $5.00 a day storage will be charged, unless you make other arrangements before end of auction. You could drive this car home as it runs strong. But you will need to use the running lights as brake lights. If you chose to drive the car home I can pick you up at Boise airport. This is not a bad car, fix the brake lights and cruse around, it turns heads (I just have to many cars and I can't get to them all), but this is a 31 year old car and is far from perfect, and it is being sold "AS-IS" If you have any questions please ask. Don't miss this opportunity to own this rare 70's Continental Bill Blass classic offered at "NO RESEVER". Thanks and good luck!
