Vehicle Detail
This car has been in my family since my Grandfather bought it brand new in 1968 (see pictures, I'll be keeping my Grandfather's Charger ID card). By the time it got to me the original 383 Magnum was not working well so we put in a 440 which is bolted up to the original 3-speed manual transmission which is working fine. I would not sell this car except I no longer have room for it and it needs somebody to keep it alive. Please, I don't have time to waste so only serious buyers need to bid! This car is in good running condition. Recently we had a new gas tank put in, new battery, transmission fluid and filter replaced, carburetor cleaned, the 2 front wheel cylinders, shoes, drums and master cylinder replaced. The brakes are pushing to the floor right now, so they will need a little more TLC. There is an anti-freeze leak, a plastic part between the radiator and the heater is what leaks. There is rust in a few places including the bottom of the back rear quarter panels, a little around some of the windows and trim, some under the front of the car and the trunk pan. As you can see from the pictures it was in a slight accident resulting in the front end being dented. There is no damage to the engine, radiator, or frame. We have extra front and rear bumpers. The head lights do not open right now because the vacuum hose needs to be replaced. You will also need to get new wind shield wiper blades, the wipers themselves work fine. The interior is in pretty good condition. The front seats could use some repair, or seat covers. The back seats are in good condition. Glass is in good condition. We also replaced the original radio with a AM/FM cassette player a while back. We have some other extras such as a driver's side upper door panel, glove box box door, upper dashboard piece, the hood turn signal blinkers, some switches, a door handle, hub cap, odds and ends and the original radio (which I don't know if it works, but it was saved so it probably does). We also have a full service manual, the original operating instruction manual and a key chain. Clear title in my name. This is a great car to just enjoy driving, fix it up as you drive, or take it on as a restoration project. This car is a lot of fun. Wish I didn't have to sell it but it isn't doing much good in my garage. Bid and enjoy! All shipping charges are the buyers responsibility. Even thought the brakes work somewhat, I recommend shipping, not driving it out of here. Buyer must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Balance due within 7 days of auction end which can be paid with cash in person or a cashier's check which must clear before the car will move. This car is sold as is with no warranty as with all classic vehicles. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Again, have all of your funds in order prior to bidding please and good luck. On Apr-12-10 at 11:37:52 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: Sorry for the confusion everyone. This car does NOT have a manual transmission as it says in the description. It is an automatic. Very sorry for the mistake. I reviewed everything else again and this was the only mistake I found. On Apr-13-10 at 12:34:30 PDT, seller added the following information: On Apr-13-10 at 12:57:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi everyone. I am trying to add any information as I get requests so that I'm putting everything out there for you. As you can see I did add some pictures of the underside of the car. Also, I wanted to add that the battery tray is pretty rusted, but currently holdng the battery just fine. Eventually it will need to be replaced. Also, the gauges all work, except I don't think the speedometer is calibrated accurately. It's a little off and I can't be sure how much. You would need to take it into a shop to determine that. On Apr-18-10 at 15:24:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I have tried to find out the engine year and all I can see is this number on the engine block: 253843010. On the intake manifold there is also a number and a date. They are: 2806178 and the date is 10-10-68. I tried to find out more on the internet about this engine from these numbers, but didn't have much luck. I asked within my family and this car has had no other wrecks than the one that dented the front end. I have adding more pictures. I have a few more details of the car, nothing new, just some close-ups that if anyone wants to see I will send them if you give me your email address. I just don't want to overload the page with pictures. Thanks.
