Vehicle Detail
I purchased this nice 1984 Toyota Supra from the original owner on October 2016. The car has been well taken care of throughout its life as you can see from the pictures. I hope this car goes to a good new home. Please don’t bother if you do not know what you are buying. My priorities have changed and I need to let the car go; otherwise, I would have kept it. I have placed a fair reserve price on this car. The engine runs very strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. The pop-up head lights, rear wiper, power windows, power locks, and power sunroof all work well. I recently replaced the spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor, oxygen sensor, and valve cover gaskets. Also, the transmission fluid and differential fluid were replaced with synthetic oil less than 1000 mile ago. The brake pads and rotors have less than 2000 miles on them. I always used quality parts and oils. As a former automotive technician, I performed all the work myself. The car has an aftermarket exhaust with a MagnaFlow 14815 muffler. The power mirrors and power antenna do not work properly. The windshield wipers work intermittently. Probably simple fixes, I just haven’t had a chance to troubleshoot. I enjoyed driving this car at least 1-2 times per week. The original owner had the car repainted to the factory color and during that process minor rust repairs were made. This car does have some light rust spots in the jams. The undercarriage also has surface rust. This is typical for a MKII Supra, I have owned three. I always wanted to redo the suspension and steering on this car to stiffen it up again. All else, the interior is in great shape, the car runs well, and you will get a lot of compliments. If you have any questions, send me a message On Feb-11-19 at 19:45:37 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks to many good questions here are additional details: The clutch is in great shape; no slippage whatsoever. The clutch pedal engages just right, neither too high or low. The limited slip differential (LSD) is smooth and does not produce any abnormal sound. The gas struts that support the hood and hatch need to be replaced or wear a helmet. The A/C does not blow cold air because the R12 Freon leaked out of system. The blower motor works and the compressor turns by hand. With a power sunroof and power windows who needs A/C. Upon cold start, after sitting overnight, the car does not smoke. You may see a little vapor burn-off due but nothing abnormal. While cruising the car does not smoke at all, only when you are idling for a long time, say 5+ minutes at a long-red-light, that you will get a single puff of smoke when accelerating. This is likely due to oil seepage past the valve stem seals. Something quite normal for these 5M-GE engines. The smoke is blue-gray in color which is the typical color for oil burning. I run 10w40 Castrol GTX with an oversized oil filter. After a long trip (say 100 miles or more) I may find a couple of drops of oil (less than a teaspoon) the next morning. Not enough for me to worry. I always parked this car inside my garage. The car will come with a new oil pan gasket and rear main seal. If you want to be absolutely positively leak-free (i.e. anal), you can install them. Also included is a spare water pump, timing belt, front brake pads, rear brake pads, set of ignition wires and anything else I find for the car in my garage. I planned to keep the car for a long time; hence, I purchased these spare parts from RockAuto when they were having a closeout sale some time ago. Thank you all for your interest. I hope the additional details help.
