If you have been looking for a beautiful, serviced, wonderful driving, FUNCTIONING Range Rover, wait no longer! Oh, and did you see those miles????? It is like getting a new, fresh P38! AND NO RESERVE!!!! Background:Let me begin with a little background. This truck was ordered in a BEAUTIFUL color and option package. There are few color combinations that look as pretty as blue over tan on a luxury truck. This gorgeous Range Rover is Oslo Blue over Lightstone Tan Leather. It was also optioned with the upgraded HSE package! Which included the larger, more powerful 4.6L V8 engine. This HSE (or High Specification Edition) had a base price of $68,000 in 2001 and was the top of the line engine Range Rover for 2001. It came stock with 18" Hurricane wheels and this truck has been upgraded to period correct and hard to find OEM Land Rover Comet wheels! - more about that in a minute CLEAN AND CLEAR CarFax! No accidents, issues or incidents. No odometer issues. As good as it gets. The Condition and Service: This truck has been ENTHUSIASTICALLY and PROFESSIONALLY maintained and serviced and is a high standard for Rover service! Let's start on the engine and drivetrain:This engine and truck have VERY LOW MILES (about 3,700 a year), only 67,000 miles appear on the odometer and the entire truck shows the same care. There has been A TON of scheduled and preventive maintenance performed to this truck to keep in near brand new condition. The engine is very healthy and has loads of smooth power! This was the upgraded 4.6L V8 which made 225hp @4750rpm and 280ft lbs of tq @3000rpm. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS The truck runs COOL as can be and the needle doesn't budge from the 12 o'clock position. No head gaskets leaking compression or coolant, and with such low miles, she runs and drives SUPER smooth. Ready for tens of thousands of care free miles -EMISSIONSJust passed the insanely hard CA emissions test and is ready to rock and roll! If you can pass CA, you can pass anywhere! -LOWER ENGINEGreat shape, no knocks, noises or mechanical issues!! As with ALL Rovers there is some minor "moisture" at oil pan seals, power steering etc. Its the British car way. -RADIATOR The radiator flows great and the temp needle NEVER moves past the 50% mark even with the AC on and in traffic. -HOSES and WATER PUMPBRAND NEW OEM water pump and newer upper and lower radiator hoses. -EMERGENCY BRAKERecently adjusted and tight, only a couple notches on the handle holds the truck tight -TRANSMISSIONThe trans was just given all new fluid and shifts great! This is the ZF 4HP22-E trans and feels great! -DIFFS and DRIVESHAFTSNew gear oil in the diffs and lubricated u-joints -BATTERYThe truck cranks up right away and has years of carefree service ahead of it. Lets move to the suspension and brakes: -BRAKESBrake pads in the front and rear have loads of pad life! The truck brakes great. BRAND NEW rebuilt ABS ECU. No ABS lights! NO TC lights! ABS pump very quickly builds pressure, pedal feels great and no leaks or issues! -AIR SUSPENSIONThis is the REAL CHERRY for a P38 Range Rover. Most people/mechanics get scared to service the Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) on these trucks and convert them to springs in order to not get involved. This truck has had the air suspension completely serviced and checked and is FULLY FUNCTIONING. There are no codes, no ride height sensor, valve block, EAS computer or airbag issues. This truck rides WONDERFUL. Ahhhh, cushy wonderful air suspension is a treat! Cushy over bumps, but tight from great shocks in the corners. The truck features a toggle switch on the dash that allows for 4 preset ride heights. 1) Access Mode - low vehicle height meant just to ease access in and out of the truck. 2) Highway Mode - the truck automatically lowers to height between Normal mode and Access Mode in order to keep center of gravity lower during highway speeds. 3) Normal Road Mode - this mode is the default ride height to drive around town. 4) Off-Road Mode - raises ride height to a maximum height for clearing obstacles, fording water, or general off-road or clearance requiring driving. The switch in the dash toggles up Modes 1,3 and 4 (2 is automatic only) and ride height lock button works great to prevent the system from changing heights if you need to maintain access mode in a garage etc. EAS computer has been checked manually as well as run through Rover software to show proper sync. The truck sits level and does not lower down to the bump stops overnight like SO many trucks do. This truck stays at the ride height it was left at for days and days and days. No leaks!!!! You can hear it adjust pressure, self level and fully operate. -STEERINGThe steering is tight and has no excess play. Let's continue to the exterior: -PAINTThe paint is overall VERY good and a 8+ or 9- out of 10 easily. There is only minor signs of wear. There are few minor dings which are very hard to see in pics and in person, some minor flaws (chips, fade, scratches, dried wax in some corners, etc). There is one small ding just under the pass corner of the hood. Hard to spot but photoed in gallery. One small ding on the pass side rear door - again very small. NO hood or roof clearcoat flaking off like so many Rovers out there. This Oslo Blue truck shines so nicely. ZERO body rust. Take that east coast Rovers! Remember this is a 18 year old truck, there may be some minor scratches, wear etc, but they are well below any expectation level for Range Rovers or cars of this year. I try to explain these the trucks the best I can! Its hard if not impossible to see in pics and you have to be right up on it to see it in person. Could almost not mention it just trying to be thorough!!! -WHEELSThe OEM Hurricane wheels, while nice, are a little bit par for the course. The Comet wheels were the featured wheels on only a couple limited edition Rovers of the same era and are correct for a P38. Hard to find on their own and a beautiful upgrade. Good shape with no major flaws or curbing. Some minor flaws as expected but overall very nice. -GLASSWindows are in great shape, including rear hatch. Front windshield looks great and has two small chips that have no spider webbing. -TRAILER HITCH and UNDERSIDEThe truck has a factory trailer hitch and is wired up and ready to tow. Underside is neat and shows very well. Only minor surface oxidation on exposed metal, no rot or rust and only minor moisture on driveline. No drips in the driveway! Onto the cabin: -SEATSThe Lightstone leather seats are INCREDIBLE. They are incredibly supportive with what feels like zero foam wear. Gorgeous color, no staining or fading. Check the pictures, the texture and seams are amazing and the leather is SUPER soft and not hard at all. Some of the nicest P38 seats I have ever seen. -DOOR PANELSAll of the panels are free of dents or major defects and feature gorgeous leather. Only very minor wear at the typical drivers side door grab. -HEADLINERBRAND NEW headliner and sun shade liner in perfect shape. -CARPETNice carpet and full OEM Range Rover floor mat set! Only minor stains on drivers side mat, other mats are fantastic. -POWER SEATSAll power seat functions work perfect! Hard to find in a Range Rover! -POWER LOCKSAll doors lock and unlock with central locking function. Comes with one non-remote key -POWER WINDOWSWindows all work and are smooth and fast. Buttons all work on the center pad including lock out button. Sunroof does not work as per most P38. -RADIO/CD CHANGERStock Alpine radio and CD player sound incredible! -NAVIGATIONNav works perfectly! A rare Rover treat and the stereo amp (which shares itself with the nav) works perfectly. VERY hard to find. THE LCD screen some a minor blotchy spot, but still very easy to read. -AC/HEAT/HVAC PanelBRAND NEW rebuilt HVAC unit. NO LCDs are out and every button works. AC is cold and Heat is hot! This is not the typical P38 HVAC panel that you have to click your heels and pat your head and pray to the moon gods to get it to work right. The fan control knob works great, the driver and passenger dual zone climate control, blend motors and vent controls all work. Auto temp mode works great too!! Heated seats like near all P38 do not work. -DASHBOARDGreat condition dash pad! -MIRRORSPower mirrors work perfectly including reverse dip. Center mirror has NO ink bleed! -WOODVery nice wood on the console, doors and dash! The finish is great and the stain is smooth -STEERING WHEELThe leather is nice with only minor flaws and wood is fantastic! The ExperienceIt is SO hard to find low mile Range Rovers like this. Most have insane miles, or ignored service, or have rotted away in the salt and rain. Not this CA beauty. Driving this Range Rover is fantastic. It is Lexus quiet inside, pulls and handles like a sports car and is as comfortable as a Rolls Royce. Its got all the power it had from the factory and from even a little gas is torquey and responsive. I hope you can tell by my long ad that this truck is a great pre-owned and beautiful Land Rover. It has been a wonderful truck, and it is especially wonderful to have working EAS. It is like a couch! This is a great truck that you will not have to dump TONS of money into and this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! There is thousands of dollars in recent scheduled and preventive service alone in this truck so you are ready to go another 100k+++ of care free miles. Don't buy an unserviced truck for a little less than spend 3 times as much to get it to this level of care. If you can find a nicer P38, I highly encourage you to buy it! I would drive anywhere in this truck and with miles like this, I could do it for years to come. Feel free to ask me any questions at all. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a car that however is very good condition. This is a nice Rover of this year, but please just remember that no car is perfect. It is though a clean, very nice Rover! Rovers require more care and feeding than Hondas and Toyotas, but thankfully tons of Rover issues have been dealt with already. Though note like Euro cars, they will require more proactive service. Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out before bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service.
