This car is great for around town short distances. My son and I bought the Rav4 EV car in Fla. in 2016. We revived the batteries 24 of them in the power train, it took one year. This model was made from 1996-2003 however this body style is the same as 2001.This is same model car that appeared in the movie "Who killed the electric car". This is one of the 300 plus made that year, the last year they made the electric Rav 4. We drove it around town for our business for small pick-ups, small chairs, Etc. We have an upholstery business. It runs really well everything works, it however is losing range we believe there is one or more battery(ies) failing after driving a distance of around 30 miles. We have 5)USED replacement Nickel hydride batteries that will be sold along with this car. They will need to be revived. It will come with a 240 volt 30 amp charger, I have heard they cost as much as $2000 and up. it works very well. The batteries can be replaced with lead or lithium or reconditioned with Nickel hydride and it will preform like new. There's a dent in the back door that was there when we bought it. The dent on the right of the back door happened during transport to us from Fla. It has some clear coat peeling on the back driver side door. The windshield and wipers and tires are less then a year old. Overall the car is in good shape, we have recently bought another one second Gen 2014 that is why we are selling it.
