Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 with a low reserve. I'll be as detailed as I possibly can. The good: Odds are this is as fast or faster than your car with a huge amount of storage space. Plus it has a hidden receiver with the hitch. I never regularly towed with it but the need has came up. I towed a Ford Escape on a dolly from Missouri to Michigan with it and still managed around 13 mpg...while passing on the highway. She has 130,xxx mile and most of them are highway. I work on the road and have driven this car from North Carolina to South Florida to Michigan to Idaho. This is the best car for the highway I've ever owned, very comfortable. If you behave yourself, you can almost get 20 mpg highway but 18/19 is what I saw. When not behaving...high 12s in the quarter mile. There is an aftermarket stereo from Parrot, the one's that make the phantom drone. It's android based but the steering wheel controls no longer work. I do still have the original REC (multi disc CD and NAV) stereo but the screen doesn't work correctly. That goes with the car. The shifter safety interlock (made of plastic) broke on me in 2013. This can be a problem with these LX cars. Instead of putting a new version of the of the same thing that broke, I found a company that makes one out of billet aluminum. Now it will never break again. 6 months later the engine oil dipstick broke in the dipstick tube. Again, plastic and again billet aluminum. The bad: The front bumper cover is damaged from an impact with something furry. I don't know what it was. I was in Idaho, in the middle of nowhere, in the dark on my way to work. Drivers fog light is gone but the electrical plug is fine, I tied it up until I could replace the bumper cover. Headlights are hazy, they might be able to be polished clean. There is a 1 x 2 inch rust spot right in front of the right rear wheel well. Passenger side HVAC vent has a broken tab and will no longer stay in place. There is a decent scratch on the passenger side door. This was here when I bought the car. As you can see, she's far from perfect but can be with some TLC. Not a common car, I've only seen 4 or 5 since I bought her in 2011.
