Vehicle Detail
I am PROUD to offer for sale my 1998 BMW 323i Convertible. INCLUDED IN THIS SALE ARE THE 4 ORIGINAL BMW Style 32 WHEELS with MICHELINS. https://youtu.be/auepAAyOGEA I bought this vehicle from its longtime older Male owner in January of 2017 with 83,000 miles on it. In two years, I have put on 8000 miles (4000 per year, easy weekend type driving). I am a mid 40s male, who is not a road racer. I am just a guy who loves cars, and loves working on them. Be sure to reference the Vehicle history report the EBAY has provided for you within this ad. This vehicle rates much higher than the average for its type and year, etc. The title is clean. Its not very often one of these in this condition is available. https://youtu.be/QXRuLYtA8bo <------ For a few videos of the engine starting, listen to the engine idle, a look into the engine bay to hear the engine running, and more. This VERY FINE example of a 21 year old E36 has only 91,000 miles and boasts many upgrades and updates. Allow me to explain a bit of the history of this vehicle, as well as some of the things I have recently done for and to the vehicle. I bought this BMW from a local private seller a couple years ago, who had the car for most of its life. He only drove it primarily on the weekends to and from the golf course. It was garaged in his homes garage the entire time. When I picked it up, it was absolutely 100% OEM, including the radio, original 15 inch wheels...everything. I decided to update and upgrade. The car had no mechanical issues at all, there has not been a single engine issue to fix. REASON FOR SELLING: I and my fiancé now have a total of 4 cars after buying a new vehicle in November. It is just a matter of shedding some automotive weight, and after all things considered, this is the one that I am choosing to part with. There is NOTHING wrong with this car. I now have a brand new truck, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2013 Audi Q5. so theres no more room. My other half thinks 4 cars is a little much. Among the things I have done are: Replaced the underpowered and dated OEM Alpine Radio with a new ALPINE Model UTE-62BT from Crutchfield, which pairs to iPhone or iPod, to allow for Smartphone Bluetooth Streaming. I have an Samsung Android that it connected easily to via Bluetooth. It also connects to an app you can download on your phone, called Alpine Tuneit, where you can set all sorts of equalizer options directly from your phone when you are connected Bluetooth. Also, the radio allows a multitude of light color options, and I chose the orange that matches the BMW interior lights perfectly.it is SiriusXM ready, Facebook and Pandora ready. I did NOT hook up the microphone for handsfree talking. Replaced the dry and aged Harman Kardon speakers with High End BMW specialty speaker maker BAVSOUND stage 1 speakers. Factory Harman Kardon subwoofer and Amp stayed in vehicle and all together produce a GREAT sounding system. I replaced the standard 15 inch wheels with 17 inch LTW Lightweight D Force wheels, mounted high end MICHELIN PILOT SPORT AS 3+, HUNTER ROAD FORCE balanced. (This set alone is near $2000 value) I replaced the aging factory suspension with well known H&R Sport Springs and BILSTEIN OEM Type Shocks and Struts. ($650 Value) I then had a 4 wheel alignment performed at a specialty shop (not a Meineke or PepBoys. etc). And the BMW rides true straight, and smooth. I decided to let the engine breathe better, and replaced the factory air intake system with High End BMW Tuner DINANs own E36 DINAN Cold Air Intake system. ($400 value) I replaced the factory brakes and rotors. I installed standard sized BREMBO rotors (front and rear), and HAWK Performance brake pads, used OEM BMW Brake Pad grease, and the brakes stop perfectly with NO SQUEAKS - very quiet. New Wiper Blades (MICHELIN). Replaced all 6 Spark plugs with fresh, BMW recommended NGK Platinum plugs. There wasn’t a problem that called for it, it was just time to replace the factory plugs. I routinely check all my vehicles (I have 3 others) for codes by reading the OBD ports. This car has NO codes at all, and the only code I ever saw on this vehicle was for a faulty oxygen sensor. I replaced both oxygen sensors (before and after Catalyst) with OEM BOSCH oxygen sensors and new wires. I tinted the windows with SUNTEK, 38% all around. Should be legal almost everywhere in the U.S. All pictures were taken on December 13, 2018 around 3pm Eastern Time. I have more pictures than this ad allowed, so contact me for more. I also took a couple short videos of the car starting, idling and revving a little, which I will be posting on YouTube for viewing. Contact me for link. This video is an attempt to show off what pictures cannot - how perfectly this car runs. The Auto Climate Control works well. I replaced the cabin air filter as well. Heats well, and cools well. This car also has HEATED FRONT SEATS. Headlamp bulbs are Sylvania Halogen, recently replaced. This vehicle has the BMW factory Alpine alarm, and it works. Its a loud sound. I have one fob that is with the main key, and the fob locks and unlocks. When the car is locked with the fob, the car is armed. To disarm, you need to unlock with the fob. Even if the car door is manually opened with the other spare key, the factory alarm will sound. The car is CD changer ready for the BMW alpine changer, and the cabinet for it is in the trunk. Virtually any Alpine changer should plug and play since it was a factory Alpine system. The Alpine head unit doesnt receive CD changer I dont believe, because its modern and streams music and Bluetooth. The factory HiFi Harman Kardon sub is also located in the trunk area. FLAWS: The convertible top has a couple snag marks in the pillar area due to snagging on the convertible system. They are small, smaller than a dime, on both sides of the top. The top, aside from those blemishes, is tight and feels brand new. Top is functional. Passenger mirror has a black rub on it. See pictures. I am sure its easily buffed out, I just haven’t tried. The mark is too unnoticeable for me to worry that much about it. The rear panel shoulder area, just above the gas door, is a ding that happened only a short time ago. This was caused by a branch from a tree dropping on it during a windy day. Drivers seat bottom shows some wear. Middle vent on dash had a blade snap loose. I glued it back on. There is some glue still showing that needs a final shave, again, something I didn't get to. Door tweeter grill also was glued as a repair, needs a shave of the remaining dried glue. Steering wheel has a minor creak when it’s really cold. Interior has a rattle here or there, but for the most part, is consistent with any car over 20 years old. Any enthusiast with some spare time can likely find it and cure that easily. Every now and again, the Check Control Unit tells me I have a rear brake lamp out, but it isn’t out. I just ignore it, because it usually goes away whenever I start the car again, since the light works. OVERALL - this car is WELL ABOVE the standards by which a 20+ year old car would be judged, with miles that are WELL BELOW the average (LESS THAN 5000 miles a year). With all its updated and upgraded parts, this car has a whole new life ahead. This car is so reliable, I confidently took this car on a round trip to Tampa, FL from DC in the middle of the summer, and as predicted, it ran smooth the entire time without a hint of a problem. Reminder, see link above for a couple helpful videos of the car being started, etc. *******PLEASE READ THE BELOW VERY CAREFULLY: Title is Virginia, and clear, and I am only owner, with no liens. All I need to do is sign it over to its new owner. Pickup and delivery is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Deposit is expected within 24 hours (via Paypal). If Deposit is not received, Seller will contact the 2nd place bidder to allow a 2nd chance offering. Full payment is due within 3 days, by Cashiers, Bank Check, Money Order or Personal Check. Seller will consider the 3 day rule has been met so long as a tracking number for a Fed Ex, USPS or UPS courier reflects that the package has been PICKED UP BY COURIER prior to the end of the 3 day period. SELLER WILL NOT ACCEPT CASH, WIRE TRANSFER, nor full payment on PAYPAL. Seller will release title to buyer once funds have cleared. Once funds have cleared, Seller WILL, out of his own funds, priority mail 2 days or less, the signed title and the spare key to the BUYER so that the buyer can feel assured of his or her ownership of the vehicle, regardless of when they pick up the actual vehicle. Seller can hold the vehicle for the buyer for 30 days or so, if need be. I know what it’s like to be out of town and not be able to retrieve a bought car at a moments notice. I totally understand that. The car is not in my or anyone else’s way, and is out of the weather. Seller does not drive the car as a daily driver at all, and will have no need to drive it and put additional miles onto the vehicle. Seller will do whatever they can to help accommodate Buyer's REASONABLE needs in orchestrating delivery or pick up of the vehicle. In the past, Seller has sold a truck online to a buyer in Canada, and a BMW to a buyer in Los Angeles, and all worked out well. Seller understands Buyer anxiety and apprehensions regarding sending money before receiving full ownership of an item such as an automobile. BUYER will ensure that the vehicle is insured prior to pickup or release to a delivery service, and will provide evidence of such insurance. Seller will allow the use of the current license plates to help accommodate the legality of road use for the Buyer until the Buyer can have the vehicle inspected and registered into their own names. If Buyer does in fact need to use Sellers license plates and elects to do so, Buyer agrees to expeditiously send back to Seller both the front and rear license plates as soon as Buyer obtains their own license plates. Thank you for your interest and send me a message if you have any questions!
