Welcome to Auto South Inc., today we are selling our family's Ford Excursion! We have had this truck for just over 6 months. We have been using this truck for vacations over that time. We have kept the truck serviced the entire time and have experienced no issues other than an ABS sensor going bad within the past hundred miles. Part of our family has moved so it no longer makes sense for us to travel together. That is why I bought the truck so I no longer have a purpose for it. Before firing off those anxious questions please read full description, I have included many specifics. This Excursion is in great running condition. The truck fires right up even on the coldest mornings. It runs smoothly from a cold start and continues so until at full operating temperature. The truck shifts through all gears timely and smoothly. This Excursion, having the 7.3L International PowerStroke Turbo Diesel and 4WD, has plenty of power and could pull small to mid size trailers with ease. This makes it great for pulling a boat to the lake for the weekend, the jet skis to the beach, motorcycles to the mountains.. I think you get my point. This is Excursion is the perfect adventure mobile. The truck was first sold new in Colorado but only spent the first year of its life there before being moved to Mississippi in 2001. The truck has been in the South East ever since which allowed it age well without rusting. We purchased the Excursion from a woman whose husband had passed and no longer wanted the truck for herself. The truck had 309,000 miles on it at the time we bought it and we have put around 16,000 miles on it. The truck appears to sit a bit higher than some other Excursions and I am not sure if that is because this one is a 7.3L Diesel and 4WD or if it has been raised a couple inches. If the truck was lifted it looks to be a fully upgraded leaf spring set and it appears factory. The truck rides great all the way through highway speeds. We fitted the Excursion with a set of 35/12.50/20 Toyo MT's when we purchased it. The tires have approximately 40-50% tread left and are worn very evenly. We also updated the wheels to a 20" King Ranch wheel from a later model Ford truck. This gives the Excursion great eye appeal while keeping a clean factory look. The tires do scrub a bit when turning sharply but this can easily be avoided by being conscious of it. We also replaced the factory radio with a new Kenwood model that features bluetooth and hands free. This is nice for trips allowing everyone to get a chance to play their tunes. It also makes for a safer hands free operation of your phone. This truck will comfortably seat 8 and all of their luggage. It makes for a great family road trip car to the beach or the mountains. Since we have had the truck we have been running Shell Rotella 15W-40 and changing the oil every 3,000-4,000 miles. This oil incorporates cleaning agents to help clean engine internals from gunk and soot build up. I have a video of the truck from a cold start up and an exterior walk around.
