Vehicle Detail
1998 Dodge ram 2500 SLT 4x4, quad cab (4 doors), 5.9 Cummins turbo diesel 12 valve, auto transmission, dark grey leather interior, all available power options and they all work... Very rare truck being it's a 12 valve Cummins and has the 4 door quad cab. Here's a quick history lesson for those who don't know. This truck was only made with this engine and body combo for 1/2 a year early 1998. The 12v Cummins is bullet proof and has all mechanical injection that most people are after. So to find one of these trucks with the 12v and a quad cab is pretty hard to do. The following is a full description of the truck... Body...The body and paint are in good shape. There is no rust or real damage anywhere. There are some typical dings, scratches and imperfections that should be expected on a 20 year old truck. The most obvious damage is there's a couple dings in the tailgate (see pictures). There's also a few scratches on the hood that would not show up in pictures (I tried). It looks like the truck was repainted at one time and really looks good! There's also a spray in bed liner tat also looks really good. All the glass is in good shape with no cracks. The undercarriage is in excellent condition. It even has the factory stickers on it! There's obviously a little surface rust on the frame but nothing serious. This is a original montana truck and we don't use salt or other chemicals on the road, just sand and gravel. That's why trucks stay so nice out here... Interior...The interior is in great condition. The dash has no cracks or damage. The door panels and carpet are also in good shape. This was a non-smokers truck and smells good inside. The rear seat looks great but the front seats show a little wear on the edge where your butt hits getting in. Both driver and passenger side have a 2" crack in the edge of the leather. Other than that the interior is in really good shape. There are nice wool seat covers on the front seats... Mechanical...Mechanically the truck is very sound. The engine fires right up and sounds great. There's next to no blow bye when it's warm. Also it does not use or leak oil or coolant between changes. The transmission also works great. It does not slip or anything unusual. The trans fluid looks and smells good. 4x4 also works as it should. The front end is fairly new and tight. You can do 70mph down the highway with 1 finger on the wheel. The truck is all stock and original. It has never been modified or hot rodded up. It does have one nice upgrade as shown in picture.Itt has a steering box brace that connects the front frame rails and a big bearing around the end of the steering box shaft. It really tightens up the front ends on these trucks. Also the brakes and tires are in good shape. The front tires are new and rears are 75%. Once in a while the abs/brake light will flash or come on and go off. It never affected the way the brakes worked so I never bothered with it. The truck really runs and drives great and is super reliable. The truck needs nothing and ready to be put to work. I own a small auto repair shop here in Bigfork, MT and personally went over the truck front to back. Everything works and it's ready to go. The truck has been very well cared for over the years. You would never expect the milage was 304k after seeing and driving it. The new owner will be proud to have this rare truck sitting in there garage...
