Vehicle Detail
This is an excellent running E320 4Matic wagon (W210) with less rust than most others in the Northeast. It was a daily driver up until a few weeks ago. We have had it for four years and put about 45 - 50k on it during that tine with very few issues. I believe this was a one-owner car and was probably serviced at the dealer because EVERY part on it including wiper blades, oil filter, air filter, etc. were genuine MB. Since we bought it, it has had only Mobil1 European Car Synthetic (approved by MB) oil and OEM "fleece" oil filters. The good:Runs and drives very wellBurns no oilTransmission shifts properlyAWD works correctly (4Matic is AMAZING in the snow)Leather interior (and all other trim, including wood, dashpad, door cards, carpets, etc.) is in outstanding condition without rips, tears, stains, etc.Headliner does not sagHas original spare w/tools, etc. New front drive shaftRecent ceramic brake pads, alternator & batteryNew thermostat w/coolant flush and correct refill Self-leveling suspension works perfectly Nearly new Pirelli P-7 tires with only a few thousand miles on them (3-4k, tops)Second set of MB Elegance wheels with Nokian & Michelin snows (inspectable, but not a lot of tread left)Kenwood head unit w/CD, Bluetooth, etc.connected to original Bose sound system The not-so-good:Broken coil spring on right front. It looks like it has been broken for some time and was found due to a persistent squeak over bumps. The spring is part of a coil-over system and looks to be an easy repair with parts from MB at around $100. See picture. Surface rust has started to breakout in various places. The floors, rockers and sub-frames appear to be in good shape. The right rear compartment (where the original CD changer lives) has been repaired with metal and fiberglass. Spare tire well is solid. Front drive shaft universal joint blew out on the highway. It was replaced with a HD custom shaft with replaceable u-joints. When that happened, it blew off all of the seat belt tensioners. Those have all been rebuilt and work fine, except I have never taken the car to a dealer to reset the Airbag light (can't be reset by anyone else, apparently - $5k Snap-On tool won't touch it).CEL code for the fuel cap/filler comes on intermittently. Very comfortable and capable winter transportation. Drive it as-is for a year or two or do a little body work and you will have a nice vehicle!
