Very nice 2003 Chevy Tahoe Z71 with 244,201 miles. We purchased in January of 2012 from a dealership in Iowa with 98,000 miles. Was a corporate car before we bought it. Had a great CarFax, never wrecked, 28 regular maintenance records were available at that time. Loaded with options includingHeated, electric seatsRear DVD player with two headsets6 CD Changer and Premium SoundTowing PackageLeather Interior with 3rd Row of SeatsZ71 Performance Package with skid plate and special shocks/springs Since we purchased, we have always run full synthetic oil and changed oil every 5,000 - 6,000 miles. In the last 2 years, in addition to the oil changes and regular tire rotations, we have done the following: New TiresNew Throttle BodyNew Catalytic ConverterNew BrakesNew ShocksNew Fuel PumpNew Water PumpTransmission FlushRear Differential ServiceFull Tune Up Service at 220,000 milesNew WindshieldRegular Lube, Oil and Filter Service, Tire Rotations and Air Filter Replacements (engine and cabin air filters) The transmission began slipping recently and we currently only drive this car around town - up to about 45mph. The issue is mainly shifting from 3rd to 4th gears. It will fall out of 4th into a Neutral state after driving for 30+ plus minutes. We have taken it to 2 transmission shops and both concur that it is needs a new or rebuilt transmission. Certified Transmission indicated that a rebuilt transmission for the Tahoe will cost about $2,600 for a transmission with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty or $2,985 for a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty). Both prices include taxes. We have already replaced this car, so it's no longer needed. The motor is so quiet, no hesitation at all, and it has so many new or newer parts that it might be worth fixing the transmission to someone who needs a good second vehicle, lake car or country car. Other known issues with the car:Sunroof raising arm is missing the pin. Does not leak and the electric parts still work to move it forward and back. Just cannot raise it to let air in. Power seat on driver side does not raise up very high. Forward, back and other controls still work. CD Player will play (my) CD's and will switch between CD's, but will not eject or load. I hope that you like Jason Aldean and BonJovi. ;) The transmission shop also indicated that it has a very small oil leak at front differential and rear. They will likely need to be serviced and have new seals/gaskets. All leather interior. 3rd Row of seats (barely used) comes with the car as well. Original wheels. Paint has a few scratches and a few door dings. Rust on front and rear bumpers and front quarter panels have some rust. Please see photos and ask any questions. Since the transmission is slipping, we cannot guarantee that it will be a good car for someone to drive. But we have invested a lot of money in parts and service since we have owned the car, so it may run fine after a new transmission - we have no idea. Always garaged since we have owned it. Been driven about 20,000 each year - mostly highway miles. The interior seats are in very good shape with some wear - mostly on driver seat. Please email us with any questions that you might have.
