1961 Cadillac Convertible 1961 Cadillac Convertible Click images to enlarge Description ​As you can see by my photos, you are looking at a real nice 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. This car was purchased in the early 1980's by a local gentleman as a retirement project who with the help of his son completely restored it from the frame up finishing it in 1984. It was explained to me that he chose this Convertible because it was clean, complete and very solid. After the restoration he proudly drove the car during the summer months up until his passing several years ago. He was a very good steward of his Cadillac and faithfully maintained the car, always kept it clean and stored it indoors in his heated garage. His son inherited the car and recently asked me to put the vehicle up for sale for the very first time and represent it for him. This 1961 Cadillac Convertible has the attractive & desirable color combination of an Olympic White Body with a beautiful 2-tone Maroon & White interior. The body is clean & straight showing no signs of any rust or previous damage repair. The white paint is nice and really shines for being 30+ years old and has held up very well. There are only several minor nicks & chips and at the very bottom of the passengers side rear 1/4 panel there are some cracks in the finish as my last photo shows. With the exception of the headlight bezels, all of the chrome was re-plated and is still in really nice bright shiny condition having no stains, scratches, or pitting. ​All of the window glass is in excellent condition with no chips, scratches or foggy edges and the power windows go up and down easily. ​The beautiful maroon & white vinyl interior is stunning and in perfect condition. There are no rips, tears, burns, sun fade or stains. The dashboard and instrument panel look like new. The white power convertible top is equally as nice as the interior and has a very clear rear window. All of the lights, gauges, turn signals, wipers, radio & horns are in good working order. ​Under the hood is as nice and and clean as the rest of the car. This Cadillac still retains it's original 390 4 bbl engine & transmission. The engine was completely rebuilt and still sounds good, runs excellent, does not smoke, tick or knock and does not leak oil. The 2-speed automatic transmission was also rebuilt and shifts correctly. ​This automobile was recently serviced with new fluids & filters, an electrical tune-up, and a new battery. It was also given a complete brake job including all new master & wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes etc. The car runs straight and steers easily with it's factory power steering and rides on a set of older 15" radial wide white wall tires. ​The trunk area is clean and complete with the factory spare wheel & bumper jack. The rust free trunk pan is original to the car. We put the car up on the rack to show you just how nice the original floor pans and rocker panels are. The chassis and suspension parts were all blasted, primed and painted and show no pitting from previous rust or scale. Factory GM Options on this Cadillac include: Power Steering, Brakes, Top, Windows, Seat and Antenna. A Wonderbar Radio and an Autronic Eye for automatic headlight dimming. ​​This 1961 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible has a clean, clear Maryland title with historic license plates and is ready to be transferred.
