Vehicle Detail
2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD 4x4 for sale with 139,xxx miles. It's my wife's daily driver so mileage will go up a bit. We are the second owners. This is a special Jeep that was from the years when Daimler owner Chrysler and thus has a Mercedes Benz OM642 diesel engine ('07 and '08 only) with the near bulletproof NAG1 (722.6) 5-speed (trust me, much better to own than the MBZ 7-speed- I had one) connected to Jeep 4WD and Jeep off-road ability. You will get stopped at fuel pumps as people try to stop you putting diesel in it, and the Jeep will attract attention in a positive way from people who know what it is. It's a lot of fun and it drives like an unstoppable tank in any weather. We bought the Jeep CPO in October 2010 still under factory warranty and it has been adult-driven and garaged since then. It has been given all the prescribed maintenance on the severe service intervals using only the best products. Fuel filter, oil filter, serpentine belt, differential fluids, transfer case fluid, transmission fluid and filter, air filter, glow plugs - you name it. All kept up regularly. Absolutely everything on this Jeep works. Thinking we were keeping this car for a long time, I went through the front end at 121,000 miles and replaced the struts with Bilstein struts, new Mopar coil springs, Moog strut mounts, and new parts for all the other small stuff. I also replaced with Mopar genuine upper and lower control arms, tie rod ends, end links, and sway bar bushings. I put new Bilstein shocks in the rear too. The Jeep handles really well, much more precisely than you might expect. It also has slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and braided stainless steel brake hoses. It stops confidently. The four matching Goodyear TripleTred tires have at least 20k miles left on them. It also has premium wheels (I have three spare extra wheel covers), premium sound (Boston), dual power seats, leather, heated front seats, a moon roof, fog lights, roof rack, luggage area cover, WeatherTech mats in the rear and cargo spaces, and dual range 4wd. I was told the previous owner special ordered it. I also have custom canvas seat covers for the back seat from California Car Covers (not pictured). What does it not have - the tow package. It has never towed anything. I'm getting rid of it simply because we have 3 vehicles now and only need 2. I'm down-sizing the fleet. The Jeep currently has a Green Diesel Engineering EcoTune on it. The tuning box (which also is a code reader) will convey. It gets a rock solid 25mpg and is quick off the line. It is also set up for off-road driving right now with a DPF delete pipe in the exhaust stream. I do have the DPF though and it will convey in case you need it for inspection. Or you could sell it. There is absolutely no soot on the tailpipe or bumper though as is - the Jeep runs really clean. The EGR is on there, but is minimized in the tune. The swirl motor/intake flaps are dummied out. They were replaced once under warranty and I realized that was something I never wanted to undertake on my own dime. The resonator on the turbo inlet tube has also been removed. All this leads to a Jeep with better throttle response and much improved fuel economy over stock while staying within the limits of the drivetrain. Let me say this again - the DPF is currently deleted. The Jeep got washed regularly and waxed at least twice a year (before and after winter). However, although these pictures look really good - it still has plenty of dings, scratches, bumps etc. (aka Washington DC parking lot gifts). There's a little rust bubbling in the driver's door jamb (pictured). Also, there's a rock chip on the driver's side windshield about 1/2 inch in diameter. It's been there since I bought the Jeep and hasn't changed. The bolster on the driver's seat is torn a bit (from the zippers in my flight suit, I think). You can see it in the pictures. Beyond the DPF, three wheel covers, luggage area cover, Green Diesel Engineering tuner, and rear seat covers mentioned, there are some other parts that convey. I have some extra fuel lines, an extra water in fuel sensor, a glow plug controller (I also had an '07 E320 Bluetec that used all the same parts), final drive control motor, EGR catch can, and possibly a filter or two if you want it. I would not hesitate to add fuel to this car and drive it to CA and back. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions about it. I'll take it anywhere within 50 miles of 20736 to get it inspected if you want a 3rd party inspection. I'll pick you up at an airport if you want to drive it home after funds clear. I'm flexible.
