This is a historic car in that this is the first model year of Cadillac's “Art & Science” styling that completely transformed the brand from big slow luxury cars into exciting luxury-sport car combos that are geared towards younger people. In terms of the car's condition, I am not a smoker, I never let anyone smoke in my car, and from what I can neither did the previous owners. The reason I'm selling this is that unfortunately this car is too unreliable for the 100 miles I drive daily to and from my job. Be aware that I am selling this car as-is; once you buy it, you can not return the car, so I'm giving you a heads-up about everything about it, first all the issues, but the great positive aspects about it as well. Note: The tires are all-weather “Mirada Sport GT2” brand tires that were purchased in January 2018 and only have 11,033 miles on them, so these tires should last another 49,000 miles based on what Mirada rates them for. Here's what wrong with this car:-As I mentioned in the condition description, this car is drivable, but has a major oil leak that creates oil fumes & causes the air filter to get choked and the engine to lose power & completely shut down while driving, mostly at speeds higher than 45 miles an hour. Without any repairs, in its current state if the engine does lose power while driving, you can wait about 5 minutes & the car will be able to re-start. -With the significant oil leak from the engine I mentioned above, expect to have to constantly monitor the engine's oil level on a daily or semi-daily basis (unless you repair it). Also, I don't trust the diptick oil level measurer anymore because a couple times it showed a full oil level in the engine, then suddenly showed literally no oil in the engine (& yes, I always measure the oil level after the engine as been off at least 10 minutes). I had a Cadillac dealer quote me a price on fixing the oil leak in 2015, and they told me it be about $2,200 because of all the labor time & costs to get to the oil pan where they though the leak was occurring.-The power brakes don't work -The power steering doesn't work most of the time -The cruise control did not work the last time I tried it -The rear driver's side window doesn't move up and down. If you try to roll it down with the electronic controls, it will roll part way down then be stuck. There is a window lock button on the driver's side door I have engaged that prevents anyone in the back seat from rolling the back windows down. -If you try to play a CD-R in the CD player, it has a tendency not to work very often. Legit music CDs that you buy from a store work almost all the time. On very hot days the CD player sometimes won't work until it cools down. -The analog clock on the dashboard will always be 5 minutes behind the vehicle time you set on center console. It's not fixable, trust me, I tried. -Even though the rearview mirror has an OnStar button, this vehicle is NOT able to have OnStar per the dealership I bought it from -With you have the air conditioner or heater on, you smell fumes from the leaking oil burning up in the engine compartment -There is a small area on the front lip of the hood where the paint is chipping off -There are various small paint chips on the top of the hood -Somehow rain water gets inside the passenger's side rear door, and you can hear it sloshing around, it's annoying -The taillight on top of the trunk in the shape of a “V” doesn't work. -The cupholder for the front seats is a plastic insert that rests in the middle of the center console & has a tendency to come out with whatever drink you have in it Here are the positives: -The interior is in amazing shape, there's very little wear & tear. The back seats are in like-new condition because they were hardly ever used & I always keep blankets over them to avoid sunlight damage. -The standard Bose sound system that is original to the car is super-high quality. It truly is amazing, enjoyable sound. The bass tones can be VERY loud it you turn up bass on the car's equalizer too. -Both of the seat heaters for the front two seats work flawlessly -The air conditioner & heater work flawlessly -As mentioned above, the tires are all-weather “Mirada Sport GT2” brand tires that were purchased in January 2018 and only have 11,033 miles on them, so these tires should last another 49,000 miles based on what Mirada rates them for. -All the rims are the original style that the car shipped one; one of them I had to have replaced about five years ago -The aftermarket LED headlights were installed less than 1.5 years ago and not only look cool, but are nice and bright; you might have people think that you have your brights on when you really don't -3 of the 4 wheels on the cars have high quality Napa super premium break pads that should last the remainder of the car's life. The other brake pad (rear driver's side wheel) is a standard generic break pad with a normal usage expectancy that was installed in 2016 as part of the repair the from the semi-truck hitting the car bumper in 2016 (see vehicle history below) -I took incredibly good care of this car, including keeping the exterior and interior impeccably clean & in the best shape possible. I had a family friend I drove in this car for the first in June of this year, and she thought the car was only about 4 or 5 years old, instead of 16 years old, because the seats look brand new and the interior is in such great overall condition! Vehicle history: -I purchased the car the Jack Schmidt Cadillac dealership in O'Fallon, Illinois on October 16, 2010, with 65,241 miles on it -Around 2011, a guy left his SUV in neutral gear on a parking lot where I was and his SUV rolled into my bumper. The dent was fix & the bumper repainted -In 2016, a semi truck going too fast in rush hour traffic hit the back bumper of the car. The bumper was able to be repaired, but it soon after the impact from the crash caused an issue to the ball joint for the back driver's side wheel, and something came loose (I don't remember which part) and scrapped the brake pad badly for about 30 miles, so I had to replace the break pad on that wheel. Car pick up: The only option I'm offering for picking up this car after purchase is a public place I have already chosen within the city limits of Highland, Illinois. Here is what you get with your purchase: The actual car itself The car title Two keys and one key fob A Bill of Sale signed by both you and me at the time of purchaseThe handwritten maintenance log I kept the original owner's manuals (2 booklets), and the official Cadillac CD that came with the car The spare tire and the car jack that are standard with the car. They are in a storage area in the trunk. the clean blankets I use to cover the backseat from sunlight damage; one is a black blanket with a Cadillac logo on it, but the blanket has major fading in some spots from being faded out by sunlight. The other blanket is a just a plain blue blanket that also has spots from sunlight fading. A small packet of Kleenex for the glove boxIf you have any questions, please message me on eBay. There is NO RESERVE PRICE on this auction, so the highest bidder wins!
