1978 FJ 40 - Excellent Condition - Restored Extensively - Original 2F Engine & Chassis. This is a fully restored FJ 40 in excellent running condition, minor cosmetic flaws, and minor rust (due to shipping overseas). Worked on for over two years, with great attention to details. The car is in very good cosmetic and mechanical shape, with many comforts of modern vehicles like power steering, air conditioning, without losing the simplicity, durability, and classic looks of an FJ 40. This car is for anyone who wants to own a superb FJ 40 which they want to use as a daily driver. Bought in Ecuador in 2013 while I was stationed there. The vehicle was disassembled and rebuilt with a detailed paint job, complete interior redo, mini truck power steering upgrade, air conditioning etc. All parts were bought from Cool Cruisers of Texas. I took the car with me to Turkey from Ecuador to my next posting. Full engine rebuild, disk rotor replacement, suspension update, updated cooling system, updated electrical system was done in Turkey. All the work was carefully monitored and each system was carefully redone. No longer able to take the car with me - I am now stationed in India(right hand drive and import restrictions). The cosmetics and some minor rust are present due to the long transfers that the vehicle has done from Ecuador - Turkey - USA in shipping containers and ports. Title & Registration: The FJ is currently registered in Alabama. Please note that Alabama is a "registration only" state for vehicles over 34 years old. The transfer mechanism after the sale will be bill of sale and attached original Alabama registration to the new owner. If you are going to take it to a Title state e.g. Oklahoma this bill of sale with the original Alabama registration will be sufficient to get a new title issued in your name. I have had two misfires while selling this car:1. The buyer complained that the Ecuadorian origin was not disclosed.2. The buyer insisted on a title which Alabama does not give for vehicles older than 35 years. Mechanical:Engine rebuilt less than 1000 Miles.New carburetor, snorkel, and new pistons.Transmission fully restored with less than 1000 miles and running in excellent condition.Updated suspension system - adjustable shocks to soften/harden the ride, tires in excellent condition, new rims.Toyota Mini Truck power steering upgrade.New updated cooling system - electric fan, new radiator.Updated electrical system - fully rewired, new alternator, fully upgraded relays and fuse box, and new starting system.Break rotors replaced, wheels aligned and balanced recently. Capable of performing as a daily driver without losing off road capability (too nice for off roading - never taken off road since restoration). Cosmetic:Restored from the frame up with with extreme attention to detail. New paint job - less than three years.All controls and gauges work perfectly.Liners and seals fully replaced.Interior and exterior looks like the original FJ40 with minimal modifications.Heavy Duty Roof RackOff Road LED Lighting. Interior:Interior fully restored for comfort and durability:New durable upholstery.New foldable split back seats.Floor lined with temperature control reflective film and hard wearing rubber flooring.
