Here's a 1971 Ghia that needs some TLC and a little body restoration. Engine runs great and has 81,736 original miles. I purchase it in 1984 from the original owner who bought it new in 1971. So, I've had this car for 34 years with no significant issues. The original color was a Ivy green (not 2-tone). 20 years ago, I had it stripped down to the metal and painted Irish Green (an original Ghia color from a 1971 Karmann Ghia paint chart). The roof is Ivory from the same paint chart. I live in Vermont and have only driven the car in the summer. It's been covered every winter, but the car is showing its age and some rust, so it needs to be restored inside and out. This Ghia needs to be driven. It has a good clutch but the shift needs to be held in reverse or it slips out. The has always run great with a nice even idle. I have a good set of original bumpers that go with the car and the tires are fairly new. It hasn't been driven for the past several seasons and it should be transported on a flatbed. I would not trust the car's reliability for a long road trip. I hate to sell it, but I don't have the time to care for this little gem any longer.
