Vehicle Detail

Relisting with lower price, still OBO. Last auction ended with someone making an offer but then stopped responding ...LOSING STORAGE SPACE AND WIFE LOSING PATIENCE! For sale here is my 2000 Saab 9-3 Viggen Convertible in beautiful silver with Viggen-correct Rocky Black interior. This car is an exceptionally clean example of what are becoming more and more hard to find Viggens. I am an avid Saab fan and collector. I used to have 4 Viggens, a 9-5 Aero, (and a few other toys I can't put in writing here because my wife may not know about them) This spring my wife and I decided to build a new house so I had to downsize the fleet. I picked this Viggen up hoping to replace a couple daily-drivers I was selling with just one. Unfortunately, when I got it home, my wife informed me silver is her LEAST favorite car color and she'd rather I keep a couple projects than an immaculate car in a color she doesn't like (she doesn't even drive the Viggens much ... go figure). Anyway, some quick math showed that selling this car was cheaper than a divorce so I have it for sale - lucky you! Basically, I bought the car, put almost $1500 into it, and now its for sale - I don't think I've put 500 miles on it yet. This car may have 165,000 miles on the clock but you would never know it by looking or driving it. I know everyone says that in their ads, but take a look at the photos and check out the maintenance done on this car and you will see why I am so confident when I say this. The body on this car is nearly flawless. Even the front bumper is in great shape and I have all four jackpoint covers and the tow-hook cover (currently off the car so they don't get lost, but I have them). When was the last time you saw a Viggen for less than $10,000 with a great front bumper and ALL of the jackpoint covers? The interior is wonderful with the only sign of wear being the obligatory Viggen wear on the driver seat bolster. I don't recall the last Viggen I've seen in person with such a great interior. Gauges and dials all work great and have been upgraded to LED lighting. The top functions flawlessly and looks fantastic. No hydraulic leaks and the motor and pump are great. There are two wear spots in the top near the rear window but they have been patched and sealed so the issue is minor and cosmetic only. Viggen wheels are STRAIGHT and look great on this car. Tires are 2 sets of 2, with plenty of tread left for this year. Being a Saab, I of course would recommend getting an extra set of wheels (I may have a set we could work into the right deal) and tires come winter and not letting this baby miss out on it's favorite time of year. It's a Saab, its Swedish, yes - they can devour winter roads! Maybe an Audi 90 Quattro is the only way to have more fun in the snow! Mechanically, this car is in fantastic shape. Sludge is always a concern with these cars but NOT with this one! The engine was recently replaced with an engine from a 2007 9-5 Aero (only about 65k on the engine right now). What does this mean? Not only is this a low mileage B235R, but it comes from the higher output 9-5 Aero and from the time AFTER the sludge issues were identified and resolved. This engine has NEVER had to deal with the poor PCV design of the original Viggens and came with the updated kit right from the factory on day one. Needless to say, engine and transmission are in great shape. So what's been done to this car? Recent maintenance includes: * New B235R engine 2 years ago (NEVER sludged - from higher powered 9-5 Aero) * New engine and transmission mounts * New valve cover gasket * New DIC ignition cassette * New NGK spark plugs * New front-right ball joint * Convertible top treated and sealed * New rear brake pads * Interior lighting converted to LED * Headlights, reverse lights, and license plate lights all converted to LED * New battery * New air filters * New flex pipe for exhaust * New Saab serpentine belt and tensioner * Stock TD04-15T turbo spools up flawlessly - this car is a Viggen so it is FAST! * Beautiful 20% tint on the windows are a great look and protect this nearly perfect interior. * All exterior rubber and trim recently treated to keep it soft and sealing * Previous owner had an aftermarket stereo installed - I replaced with the stock unit but left upgraded speakers so the factory Clarion system works great and has amazing sound. All aftermarket stereo pieces can go with the car if you want them. * Two keys and remotes, as well as the owner's manual come with the car as well. * Factory wind deflector new in box comes with the car I live within a mile of one of the best Saab shops in the country (The Auto Shop) and this car went straight to them before I even brought it home. They did all the work under my watch as well as checked out all the previous work and inspected the car for me. Basically - if they said it needed something, I did it. If you recall the Lightning Blue convertible I sold a few months back (one of the ones this car was meant to replace ... ) then you know I really strive for Viggens in that sweet spot where you can enjoy them. No, this car was not owned by a racer-wannabe and flogged its whole life. You can pick those up for $3500 all day though - best of luck with those! Also, this isn't a Gary Small, $13,000, gone over with a toothbrush and q-tip, never breathed-on wrong, car. You can park it in your garage (not your living room) and drive it every day. That said - it wouldn't really take much to turn this into a pristine gem either! Seeing as the car isn't changing colors any time soon, and we still have a house to build, I want to get this thing sold. That said, you can certainly see there aren't many cleaner Viggens out there that you wouldn't feel bad about driving every day. I'm open to reasonable offers on this car - but I'll be honest and say that if you know these cars, and you see these pictures, you know this car is worth the asking price. I can help coordinate shipping (at buyer's expense) I live off one interstate (I-41) and work right off another (I-43) - both direct shot to Chicago and Milwaukee if you'd like to fly in and drive it home. I can also try to meet within a couple hours of Appleton, WI if that helps. Clean and clear title in hand for a quick and easy sale. Happy to answer any questions - I know these cars pretty well and love talking Saabs - and cars in general - all the time so feel free to ask all the questions you want.
