Selling my beloved 2004 v8 Volkswagen Phaeton. About 122,500 miles. It's in great condition and runs great, all maintenance up to date. CA SMOG PASSED. I've owned it since 2015. The only reason I'm selling is because I moved back to NY (the car is in Santa Monica, CA) and it didn't make sense to have it shipped back with me. I have clean CA title in hand with no liens or any other issues. Here is why Phaetons are awesome. First, they are super rare, only about 1100 total were sold in the US between 2004 and 2006, and then they were "discontinued." People compliment me on the car or ask about it literally every week. It's like driving a Lamborghini except that it doesn't make you a douchebag. Second, Phaetons are incredibly high quality and a great value. They shared a platform with the Bentley Flying Spur, which mysteriously began production in 2006... in the same factory... after the Phaeton was "discontinued"... Basically, the VW group was having trouble getting people to buy a $70k+ car with a VW badge (original MSRP on this was $72k, I have the window sticker in the glove box), so they rebranded it as the Bentley in 2006. Don't be fooled, get the same amazing car for much less. Third, it's incredibly safe and comfortable. It has one of the most sophisticated AWD systems from the era, it has air suspension that keeps the ride really smooth, it's solid as all get out, and it has triple insulated vacuum sealed glass for the windows. I never had a speeding ticket in 20 years of driving... until I bought this car. I literally got two speeding tickets in the same day because it feels like you're going 30 when you're actually going 90. So, I'd advise you to keep an eye on that... I'm selling this with no reserve because it has to go. The car is in great shape, I've taken care of all mechanical issues the entire time I've owned it since 2015. New electrical and mechanical systems on the trunk, new blower fan and control module, new air suspension sensors, new front suspension control arms, new tires with less than 10k miles on them, etc., etc. I even replaced the windshield last year because it was annoying me that it was getting cloudy, so now the windshield is fresh and clean. As described in the condition section, there are a few minor dings and scrapes (see pictures). The car is being sold completely as-is with no warranty whatsoever, because I'm back in NY and don't have time to deal with any minor problems. But, it was recently maintained at the VW dealership in Santa Monica and has PASSED CA SMOG which is still good for another year or so.
