Vehicle Detail
1964 Chrysler Imperial Convertible. Stored in garage for over 25 years. Got new upholstery, carpet, tune up, oil change, new brakes with new wheel cylinders done over 4 years ago. Drove the car few times 4 years ago and parked it since. It needs old fuel to be taken out that I will have it done to start the car with new gasoline. Car would need a new battery to start it. Exterior pictures of the cars were taken four years ago when it was taken out of the storage and restored. Interior pictures are taken last week. No rips, tears or scratches in the interiors. Exterior body has no rust at all as it is always been a California car. It may need new paint but can be driven as is after a good washing and cleaning. I have bought the brand new convertible top four years ago and was going to have it installed when the car was reupholstered. But because the old top was still useable I did not bother to change it. However, car sat outside the garage for last two years that cause the top to become hard and brittle. I will not drive this car with the old top on. However, driving it in a top down position is no problem as long as the weather permits. New convertible top will go with the car along with brand new set of convertible top's hydraulic cylinders. Top will not need both the hydraulic cylinders to be replaced but since I have bought them at the time of restoration, this set of hydraulic cylinders for the top will also go with the car. Transmission was also rebuilt four years ago and has less than 600 miles since rebuilt. Suspension feels right but can't judge with technical authority. Car rode very well when last driven before parking outside the garage over 2 years ago. This car is being sold on AS IS and WHERE IS basis without any expressed or implied warranties or guarantees of any kind. Seller is a car collector and does not claim to be technical expert to get involved in technical explanations for selling this car. Seller is willing to have this car taken to any local Chrysler dealer or an independent service shop for full inspection, road test etc. at buyers expense before buyer decides to bid on this car. This beautiful American classic is being sold as an auction with low starting price. I've sold the same car in red color to a buyer in Holland for $22,000 but that was restored and did not need any work at all. This car after installing the convertible top and regular oil change, tune up and service should not have any problems in driving from here to New York and back! Starting price is set low for those collectors who know the value of this American classic (a very under rated Amrican classic!) and will be sold to the highest bidder. Bottom Line: This is a strong California unabused car that sat for over 25 years in a storage building where other collection of classic cars are kept. It would not take more than $800 to have it serviced, cleaned and install the top. Local upholstery shop is asking $400 for the installation of the convertible top. I have already bought the white top that goes with it. Breakdown of having this car on the road: Tune up, oils and filters changed, brakes checked and bled= $300Convertible top installed: $400-500. If you like to paint it then you can spend between $800 to $2500??? A deposit of $500 will be required within 24 hours of the end of the auction payable via PayPal or??? Remaining balance must be paid within 3 days after the auction through wire transfer to my bank. If the buyer chooses to pay the entire purchase price through paypal, which will also be acceptable but buyer must pay the fees of Paypal for such payments. Please ask any questions before the bidding. I will take the car to your selected auto service shop for full inspection at your expense ($75 to $150) before you buy the car in order to determine the overall condition of the car. I have tried my best to describe the car above but if I have left something out unknowingly, please don't hesitate to ask any questions or if you need to have a very specific photograph of any part of the car before your bidding. Good luck in your bidding. On Aug-24-18 at 12:12:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, I can assist in shipping this car to Germany. I have sold several of my classic cars to the European buyers.
