Vehicle Detail
This might be your one and only chance to own one of these amazing Vintage ultra rare 50 cc bikes made in Germany by VICTORIA form the 1961 to the 1965. There where 3 Companies at that time, beginning in the 1950's in Germany that build the identical bike: Victoria - DKW and Express. In the mid 1960's these 3 Manufacturers all came together under the Umbrella " Zweirad Union " ( Two Wheel Union ) Later it was known as Auto Union which is known as Audi today. Long & very interesting History. These Bikes, Nick named Tin Banana, are highly collectable and they reach stunning prices at National Auctions, and every Collector is dreaming of owning one. The highest price ever fetched for a 50cc Motorcycle was at a Mecum Auction in Las Vegas where a orange TIN BANANA sold for $26,000 !!! This perticular Bike offered here today is a very desirable Example since the Manufacturer is VICTORIA and the engine is also made by Victoria. ( All in one Hand ) Some of them out there are DKW's for example with a Victoria engine and vise versa, still ok but it's always better, from a value standpoint, to have the same Manufacturer from " Top to Bottom " This is an original One Owner Bike with the Original German Title and Paperwork, it is a Matching Nrs. Bike!!! and it's in running condition. Not only does it come with the Original Title it also has the original Customer Service Card, with all that documentation you can verify VIN & Engine Nr. - That is something by it self you'll very very rarely are able to find anywhere. It can be used immediately as is, or you can give it a full restoration which will put it's value North of $20,000 - The bike is complete and the overall condition is good, see detailed pictures, there is a dent in the tank, left side and the Chrome around the tank is not the best, also pictured. The Motorcycle will be sold with a Bill of Sale, there is no title, had to enter title information in order to list the bike. The Mls. are KM and can not be guaranteed. I am a long time collector and I would prefer the bike going to someone who can really appreciate how rare and special this bike truly is. I have another one that is being restored at this time, otherwise this one here would not even been offered for sale. Please feel free to ask any Question or let me know if you need additional pictures. PS. Jay Leno owns one too, see last picture. Jay Leno did sign that picture for me, it is displayed next to the Bike. I am a 100% serious Ebayer and kindly ask you to please be as responsible in your actions, at the end it is my personal goal that everyone ends up with a smile and a good feeling. For you, to get the best possible idea of what's offered here today, read the description and check out all the pictures. Thank You. Thank You for looking :-) and let me know if I can be of help with your shipper. SHOULD THE TIN BANANA NOT SELL IT WILL STAY WITH ME AND IT IS NOT GOING TO BE RE LISTED. ******************* A proud John Landstrom is showing his TIN BANANA at Pebble Beach. **************************** Second Place: 1964 Zweirad Uion Kavalier Type 115 (Owners: John Landstrom, Norcross, Georgia)Zweirad-Union was an amalgamation of the DKW, Express and Victoria marques, based at the Victoria Works in Nuremburg. It was joined by Hercules in 1966, and soon after, the company was absorbed into the Fichel & Sachs group. Dr. Odilo Burkart, a confidant of Friedrich Flick, (scion of a wealthy German dynasty whose business interests included a minority share holding in Daimler Benz) purchased the Victoria Company, and with Victoria Director Heinz Tschech immediately set about reforming the firm into a productive operation. In 1960, Burkhart sold his interest in ZU to Hans Schmidt, owner of the heavy vehicle manufacturing company FAUN, recognized for its production of military vehicles for the German Army. Under Schmidt's guidance, several newly-designed motors and models were presented for sale. The most memorable of these machines was the legendary Type 115/155, better known as the “Tin Banana.” Numerous models could be purchased either with pedals or as a “Kleinkraftrad,” a low-powered machine with foot pegs and a kick starter. These satisfied German laws for young riders, where 16 year-olds were limited to a maximum of 50cc displacement. On Aug-24-18 at 06:26:35 PDT, seller added the following information: PS. The two pictures at the end of the description in the German write up can be clicked on and enlarged, really beautiful. On Aug-27-18 at 04:45:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Good day every one, last night I had a bid retraction from an inexperienced Ebayer ( 2 feedbacks ) - that makes it a bit unpleasant, especially for me as the seller. I am very certain that all my current bidders and watchers do understand that with a special Item like the Tin Banana, every word and every picture provided in the description are absolutely crucial and vital for the auction. I do my very best to point out the good and the maybe not so good with everything that I offer for sale, this here can only work when people are honest about it. I CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT BIDS FROM EBAYER'S WITH LESS THAN 10 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS - I REGRET THAT IT MUST COME TO THIS BUT I ALSO HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE SERIOUS BIDDERS OUT THERE IN THE EBAY COMMUNITY. Thank You - Peter Kisgen.
