One of the cleanest 1981 400A's and Purchased from original owner that purchased new. It was a "Mom" bike for a family and has only 4,105 original miles. The bike was put in climate controlled storage for years. The engine still has some of the original varnish coating that hasn't burnt off. This bike was stored for several years in a family owned business wrapped up to protect the bike and was removed after the family sold the business. Fresh dealer carburetor cleaning and adjustment, tune up and handle bar bushing replacements. Two known issues is the neutral safety switch needs work and the family nicked the tank when removing from storage and had the tank repainted but did not replace decals. I have rode the bike several miles and it is fun to ride. The automatic transmission makes it a great bike for a beginner or someone struggling with shifting or using a clutch. YES!!!! That’s right no clutch. I'm actually too big to be riding all the time but I left in second gear and it pulled out fine and came up to speed fast. Kick starts fine and engine sounds brand new. Shifts from first to second smoothly and downshifts smoothly. Even has a matching bag for the rear that was mounted to the rack. I really hate to sell but my wife says I have to liquidate some of my toys since I have very recently retired so my loss is your gain. Hopefully you can pick up locally in Chattanooga, TN area but if not I will work with any local shipper you contact and you make all arrangements with the local shipper and you pay for all cost associated with the shipping.
