Selling my 1984 CJ-7. I purchased this CJ-7 five years ago from a less than honest seller located in Tennessee. He was advertising it as a perfect restoration, etc. When it arrived it was far from perfect and as the $13k+ in invoices show I've put a lot more money into it to get it to where it should have actually been had I purchased the vehicle the previous seller described. I will include a link below with scans of the invoices to address the things I've taken care of and/or improved during my ownership. The vehicle is presented to the best of my knowledge based on the work I've done and what I was told by the previous seller (which in full transparency should be taken with a grain of salt). It has a rebuilt 304 V8 with a three speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt approximately 5k (mileage on autometer speedo reflects this) miles ago and has a mild cam. It is VERY strong and runs well. Thankfully, this has been the redeeming quality of a purchase where just about everything else needed to be addressed. Chassis mileage is unknown. Shortly after taking ownership I had both axles replaced with chrome alloy axles, regeared to 3.73(speedo read correctly with 35's), added lockers, new yokes, and welded tubes. Receipt included in link below. All work there was performed by Allen Tomlin of 249 Drivetrain. He is a jeep specialist in the Houston-area and widely regarded as one of the best drivetrain specialist their is for Jeeps. All other maintenance and improvement work was performed by DriverSource in Houston. All receipts along with detailed invoices linked below. I have driven the vehicle less than 5k miles in my ownership due to two main factors. Most of the time its too damn hot to drive in Houston and having no doors and/or a roof aside from a bikini top it can be a bit impractical to drive to most things I'd need to attend. With that said those 5k miles I did drive were a lot of fun and full of thumbs ups from admirers. As far as things that will need to be addressed moving forward: NONE. Luckily for you, I've spent the money getting this thing where it needs to be. From here on out there WILL be maintenance and wear and tear items will need to be addressed but you're starting from zero as it is right now. Tires have plenty of life, its got a fresh crankcase of oil, and was completely gone through in March of this year. While I wouldn't call it Concours condition its a solid 8.5+ out of 10. I would invite any prospective bidder to come and see it in person before bidding or have someone check it out. I am willing to drive it up to 25 miles from 77478 zip code to have it inspected by the shop of a prospective buyers choices AT THEIR COST. ALSO INCLUDED: I've got two JL Audio 8'' subs with two 5.5 inch Focal hi's. One amp for the subs and one amp for the hi's. It screams.
