Vehicle Detail
For Sale: a 1998 BMW R1200C "Bond" Motorcycle; Sport-Cruiser. With 1200cc of pure BMW torque, this bike can get you where you're going quickly and in style. Surprisingly maneuverable for such a powerful steed, this BMW sports a comfortable Corbin saddle with a two-position, movable back rest, a full-sized windshield, leather wrapped saddle bags, and a stylish chrome engine guard that doubles for road pegs. The mileage will change since I ride it fairly often. I am the third owner of this muscular BMW. All three owners have insisted on only BMW oil, filters, etc and they have been changed at the appropriate intervals. While there are a few scratches on the right side cover, the fuel tank, fenders, windshield, engine guard, and frame are essentially without scuffing. The Bike is stock, except for the windshield and front signal configuration and the Corbin dual seat (though I do have the original front signals and the original seat--sans pop-up back rest--that will be included in the sale). No garage queen, this bike has been ridden to an average of 2000mi per year and it still runs like a top. The torque, even in fifth gear at 70mph will nearly throw you off the back if you hammer it (thank goodness for the Corbin movable back-rest). It has been winterized and garaged every winter. The front tire is at 75% and the back at 50%. Despite being 1200cc, it averages 40+mpg. The super-convenient, lockable saddle bags have a few scratches, which you can see in the pictures. They are large enough to hold the backrest, gloves, and even your leather jacket. Yes, one could consider this a high-mileage bike, yet BMWs are known to get upwards of 100k with the proper maintainence. I wanted one of these when the Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies came out and I still get comments on how cool it looks. I'm only selling it because of a planned move. R1200Cs with fewer miles will cost you twice as much, so take advantage of this great deal and grab a head-turning, torque generating example of German engineering. No Warranty is explicit or implied and shipping is the buyer's responsibility, though I will deliver it within an agreed upon geographical range. Make me a reasonable offer . . . $1000.00 is not reasonable, it's dumb. Please don't waste my time or yours. Thanks and good luck!
