Vehicle Detail
I am selling a very special, low mileage 1982 Honda CBX. This is the 6 Cylinder, 6 Carb, 24 Valve Inline motorcycle that was only produced for 4 years (1978-1982), and remains a favorite among collectors today. Arguably, one of the most outrageous street bikes ever produced. The previous owner spent a small fortune on upgrading, customizing and building a stunning bike that runs strong and sounds as serious as it looks. The six into six exhaust alone cost over $1,600. The oil cooler lines and front brake lines were replaced with braided stainless. The stock seat was replaced with a Corbin seat that has a removable "sissy bar" padded backrest, that features a velcro closure storage pocket. And then there is the Chrome: **CHROME** Entire Valve Cover Crank End Covers Clutch Housing And Cover/Bolt Alternator Housing Oil Filter Housing/Bolt Upper Engine Mounts Both Lower Peg Mounts Passenger Grab Rails Front Pegs Shift Lever & Linkage Brake & Clutch Levers Grips **BILLET** Fuse Box Cover Panel Front Brake Reservoir Cover The bike also has a Kenwood 4 speaker stereo system with USB input & Amp. Additionally, it has hidden blue lights that illuminate the engine and reflect the black and chrome undercarriage. Both of these features are controlled by covered, aircraft style toggle switches. I just took it on a 200 mile trip over the Memorial Day Weekend, and it ran great. All lights, turn signals and gauges operate as they should, although it needs a horn. There remains some residue from sticker/emblems that the previous owner had applied on the side covers and front sides of the gas tank (see pictures). I haven't polished them out, as I was considering removing the sound system and then painting the entire bike jet black to further accent the chrome and black engine. (My girlfriend, and several buddies, convinced me that the pearlescent white looks great just as it is) The bike comes with a clear title, Washington State collector plates (no annual tab fees for residents), and an owners manual. There is no tool kit. I INVITE AND ENCOURAGE ANY PROSPECTIVE BUYER OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVE TO SEE AND INSPECT THIS BIKE IN PERSON. Please submit any questions you may have before bidding. I have provided pictures from all angles, and I've posted three videos on Youtube (Go to youtube, and search any of the following titles): "Honda CBX Custom: Walk Around And Start Up" "Honda CBX Custom: A Short Ride" "Honda CBX Custom: Sound System And Lighting" As with any 36 year old motorcycle, there are some blemishes, nicks and imperfections. This bike is sold as is with no warranties implied or issued. Winning bidder must make a $500 deposit through PayPal within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance must be paid with cash, wire transfer or direct bank deposit within 7 days of end of auction. I will gladly work with your assigned transport company to schedule and assist with pick up. As the bike may be listed locally, I do reserve the right to end the auction early if sold. On Jun-27-18 at 10:01:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Among the upgrades that the previous owner made, was exchanging the stock '82 speedometer (up to 85mph) with a 79'CBX speedometer that registers up to 155mph. Thus, I can't verify the actual mileage, but believe it is low based on the appearance and mechanical condition of the bike.
