Offered for sale is a 1978 "Naked" Gold Wing in excellent condition. Selected as the NGW Bike of the Month for June 2018. The odometer currently reads 29XXX miles. The mileage may change as I continue to ride on occasion. This bike has been completely refurbished, including new custom British Racing Green paint work. It is largely stock with a few minor modifications that will be apparent to someone knowledgeable about these bikes. Follows is a partial list of what has been done to the bike in the past couple of years: New custom British Racing Green Paint with pinstripes.Carbs professionally rebuilt and synchronized by Pistol Pete's. Timing belts replaced New C5 electronic ignition, coils, and plug wires fitted. Randakk's Spin-On Oil Filter adapter. Brake calipers rebuilt with new seals, pads, and stainless steel braided brake hoses. New front brake master cylinder. New superbike style handlebars, new grips, bar end mirrors. New clutch cable, throttle cables. New voltage regulator/rectifier from Ricks Motorsport Electrics. New AGM battery. New tires & Tubes Rebuilt front forks with new seals, and gaitors. New steering head bearings. New LED Headlight conversion. The mufflers of the original exhaust were rotted, so they were replaced with a set of aftermarket reverse megaphone mufflers attached to the stock headers. The bike has excellent compression, starts easily, and doesn't smoke. I wouldn't hesitate to ride this bike anywhere. Problem is that I rarely find time to ride it. My goal with this restoration was to retain the look and feel of the OEM standard while enhancing the reliability for day to day use. The bike presents quite well, but this isn't a museum quality restoration. The frame carries the original paint, the chrome is original and shows some patina that would be expected from a 40 year old machine. Everything works as it should (lights, horn, turn signals, etc.). The speedometer works, but it is "slow" to respond, as it has sat for a long time. It should improve with regular use. I have a Clymer repair manual, and a factory service manual. Clean Michigan title in my name. I have listed as local pick up only, but I can assist with loading the motorcycle if you wish to arrange shipments. I may also be willing to arrange delivery within 150 miles of the Metro-Detroit area. For payment, my preference is CASH, in person. Alternately, if you are not present at the time of pick up, we can discuss a Cashier's check drawn from Chase Bank.
