Vehicle Detail
I'm offering my 1998 Volvo S90 sedan for sale. I have owned and driven this car for six years. No body damage. Minor paint scrapes and dings on the painted bumpers, and a few rock chips that have been filled with touch-up paint. Interior upholstery is in very good condition. Minor checking and scrapes on the driver's seat, but no tears. Power seats, power windows and power sunroof all work well. Door panels are in very good condition with the typical Volvo wrinkle in the vinyl on the front passenger door. Runs well, automatic transmission shifts properly and isn't slipping. Car is very well maintained. Fluids have been regularly changed, including transmission and brake fluid. Car is equipped with a DEI/Viper remote starter/alarm with a 2-way LCD remote. 1,500 foot range, and you get confirmation on the remote when the car starts. Remote will also buzz and beep if somebody triggers the alarm. Monitors door, hood and trunk. Also has a shock sensor which I currently have turned to min sensitivity. Brakes are in good condition with plenty of pad left at all four wheels. Parking brake works well - I replaced the cables about two years ago. Tires are BF-Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp2 in 205/55ZR16 with 80% tread remaining. I am also including my snow tire set, which are Bridgestone Blizzak WS80's mounted on 15" Volvo wheels. Snow tires are pretty worn...I was planning on replacing them soon. Recent maintenance includes new rear differential axle seals, new gear oil in the rear differential and new gasket on the differential cover. New lower control arm and ball joint on the right front. New front and rear O2 sensors. New heater control valve. Timing belt was replaced 11/03/2016 at 167,300 miles. Air conditioning works well, but does have a very slow leak....I have to recharge it about once a year. The Electronic Climate Control system works well, but has a vacuum leak in the recirculate motor, so if you turn on the recirculate button and accelerate hard, the air will drop to the floor vents and won't return to the upper vents until you let up on the accelerator. The part isn't terribly expensive, but it's a major PITA to replace and I just haven't bothered. The car has an upgraded stereo system that is currently incomplete (and inoperable): I removed the amplifier from the trunk, but left all the wiring in place. Head unit is an Alpine CDE-HD149BT....CD player with Bluetooth audio/phone hands free. Front speakers are A/D/S 6" midrange with external tweeters. The speakers in the rear deck are 6" JL Audio woofers. If the buyer of the car wishes to purchase it, I will offer them the A/D/S P840 amplifier for an additional $1,000. There are a few known mechanical issues: Antifreeze leak at the engine head gasket. Engine oil leak from the valve cover. The ABS system sometimes cycles when it shouldn't at low speeds. I suspect there's a bad ABS sensor at one of the wheels, but haven't tracked which one might be at fault. Slight clicking noise from the front wheel bearings at low speeds. I figured I would do something about it when it got worse, and six years later it hasn't gotten any worse. Driver's side headlight wiper doesn't work. There are some issues with the universal joints in the steering column rusting. If the car is driven daily, the steering is fine, but if you let it sit for a while, the u-joints rust up a bit and the steering will become stiff until they work loose again.
