1966 Volkswagen Split Window BusUp for sale from my collection is a REALY nice 1966 Volkswagen Split Window Bus w/ original 6 volt system. Very very very dry bus, no rust, feel free to come see for yourself for possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Maintenance and Condition:Original engine rebuilt less than 8K miles ago and she runs like a top! 4 speed manual transmission, shifts great! Recent service includes: front and rear drum brake service, new spark plugs and wires, oil/filter change, new fuel filter and fuel lines. Features fold down bed/seat and walk through access. All seats in stellar condition w/ original seat belts front and rear. Headliner in perfect condition. Hardwood flooring in cargo area but I have the original mat as well. ALL seals, gaskets, latches, handles, and pop out windows like new. Safari front windows slide in and out with ease. All hardware in like new condition. Original VW key-ignition. Perfectly smooth panels and blue exterior factory colorway w/white top and Lotus white interior looks stellar! Perfect glass, nice and clear all the way around. Newer exhaust system giving her a nice purr. All tires 95% tread remaining and less than 2 years old. A great gas saver and plenty of space inside and VERY clean. History: This bus was shipped from Germany to Portland, OR port and then delivered to the authorized VW dealership assigned. The original owner purchased at full sticker price from the Volkswagen dealership-distributor "Riviera Motors, Inc" 1737 SW Morrison St. Portland, OR. The original owner was an Electrical Engineer, highly educated on VW's, and settled in TX for most of his life. My father's friend had known the original owner for nearly 25 years and when his health was declining he made a promise to take care of this bus and take ownership. So the bus was relocated to north GA and kept preserved in his climate controlled warehouse where he had several other collector cars. He did drive the bus on sunny days and would keep up with the maintenance even though stored. I was informed by my father that he reached a point in his life where he was willing to let this bus go to a new home to someone within his network of friends. I mean sincerely that this bus has always been cared for, garage kept when not in use, and probably one of the nicest vans here in the Carolinas. Paperwork: Provided to the new buyer: original window sticker, receipts, original manuals and quality insurance brochure, radio owners manual, pre/after restore photos, and original wiring diagram fold out sheet.
