1981 BMW R100 RT . 45,000 original miles. Garage kept and in very good condition. Always run on Non Ethenol fuel since purchased from Blue Moon in norcraoss Ga. in 2010 with 32.000 miles on it. Has been well maintained. Has the great features that were standard in 1981 which includes the dual front disc brakes, the excellent front forks, Electronic ignition, etc. The wheels are the sought after snowflake design Mag wheels offered that year. The paint is original and is the two tone Burgundy and purple fade. Battery was replaced at end of last summer, after 7 years of service and being kept on a Battery Tender. ( included with purchase). Tires are still with excellent tread with about 6,000 miles on them. They are about 6 years old. Now for the negatives. There are a few scratches in the paint. Most notably in the fairing on the sides. ( see pictures). Also there is a crack in the left side pannier bag near the rear latch ( see picture). Does not affect use of it, and may be something that could be repaired somewhat, but was there when I purchased in 2010, and has not gotten any worse since then. Also the instrument cluster came loose from the mount about 5 years ago and was glued back with some heavy duty cement which has not failed in that time. May want to source a new bezel to repair. Only other thing I can think of is the pushrod tube seals are starting to weep oil, but not enough to keep adding oil between changes. Turn signal indicator bulb in cluster burned out last week, but will try to replace the bulb if possible before shipping it. I will also include some special tools and any parts I have for it with purchase. Please ask any questions as soon as possible.
